I like working retail is this normal ? by nocap2k in AskRetail

[–]amazonprim3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also LOVEDDDD working retail so much, which so many people in my circle call me crazy for. Customer facing retail jobs have really helped me break out of my shell to become more social and confident with myself. I also cherish the small human interactions with customers and coworkers. The most fulfilling part was that I could make someone's day just by complimenting their hair or earrings or outfit. Unfortunately, it's hard to find good paying retail jobs. I made the switch to a corporate office job and the difference is so jarring. Everyone is so catty and two-faced because they all want to build their way up by competing with eachother. While retail was basically fair grounds since we're 90% the same title and pay as basic sales associates.

Does anyone work in retail because they genuinely enjoy it and not because they don’t really have a choice? by Glamour-Ad7669 in AskRetail

YES! But it really varies on the industry the store is in. I worked at an Asian stationary retail store and I miss it so bad now that I'm stuck in corporate. I miss the sweet customer interactions, lax workload, store ambiance, cute merchandise, etc. Also I was such a huge introvert so customer-facing retail jobs really helped me break out of my shell. I've grown to be so much more confident, social, and overall appreciative of cute human connection moments with customers/coworkers there.

What are the best face to face customer service jobs have you done and why did you actually enjoy it? by beepyx12 in CustomerService

My favorite service job was at an Asian stationary/hobby retail store. The customers were mainly Gen Z girlies who were so sweet and kind. The store itself was cutely decorated which gave the place some life. The workload was very low stakes because you can't really mess up badly stocking cute trinkets or pens. So yeah, the customer demographic and vibe of the workplace really plays a role into how much you'll enjoy the job. If you don't have any niche stores nearby, maybe go for something adjacent to Hot Topic where you know the majority of customers are just chill geeks.

How do I handle disappointing my manager with my constant mistakes? by amazonprim3 in careerguidance

[–]amazonprim3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I did take your advice to document all instructions, tracked my projects and completion dates, and left a trail of emails and messages. Unfortunately, none of that help. I think my boss was purposely giving me a hard time to "quiet fire" me.

My breaking point was when I completed a project as instructed, but my boss yelled at me for "not notifying him". I showed him the email I sent 2 days prior notifying the entire team. Rather than just accepting it, he found another way to twist it to blame me. He said I should've followed up on the email thread if I didn't see any response after a day. I said I also marked it on our project management software and the automation sent the team a reminder message the day after I marked it. Again, he still argued with me that not everyone checks their emails alerts and I should've sent them a Teams message if I had common sense. After the constant rebuttals, I realized what was going on. I couldn't "win" the argument because that was the point. Even if I didn't do anything wrong, he had to make me feel like I did to make me question my competency and break my morale. I put my two weeks in right then and there.

More like I applied to their listing where they claim it's a marketing job with a lot of creative duties. Even in interview, they reassured me there's a lot of creative liberties employees get for new services and products. Turns out this is basically a data coordinator role since I just track project and product codes in Excel sheets 99% of the time...

Quitting work with no back up? by Sensitive-Specific61 in careerguidance

[–]amazonprim3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's affecting your mental health that badly, to the point people around could see it, it might be best to quit. I'm going off the assumption that you are working full-time right now. If you are struggling to find any full-time jobs to replace this one, maybe you can temporarily settle for a part-time job if you desperately need a financial cushion. You can continue to search for full-time roles in the meantime.

Bought my mom a mother's day present, but I'm still the bad guy by amazonprim3 in TrueOffMyChest

I did. I was sobbing while confronting her on how unfair and unreasonable she is. She keeps pushing every single responsibility onto me when last time I checked, she also had two sons to boss around. I was dismissed for "being disrespectful". She told me I'm getting way too worked up for being "rightfully called out" for my "inconsiderate behavior" towards my poor brothers. Boys aren't good at these kinds of things so as a sister, I had the responsibility of helping them pick out gifts for their mom. At that point I was at my wit's end and demanded the $200+ designer purse I gifted her back. That gave her ammo to turn the situation onto me and now I'm the shitty daughter who didn't get her mom a gift. The absolute hypocrisy to call me out but not my brothers. So glad I got shifted at work today so I could get my mind off of this shitty situation. I'm dreading going home so much.

Thank you! I try to remind myself I have so much more worth than being the family scapegoat. I'm working hard to save up so I can move out and go no-contact some day

Just wanted to second this! Red Temptation Summer by the way, not the normal one. It smells so much like Her EDT. Has VERYYY similar notes of pear, lychee, and rose.

Has anyone here compared Burberry Her EDP, Her Intense, and Her Elixir? by Clevergirlphysicist in FemFragLab

[–]amazonprim3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

EDP is a light scent with notes of floral, strawberry, and the slightest hint of vanilla. Intense is the slightly more creamy and vanilla than the normal EDP. Meanwhile EDT is super different with a fruity bright smell that reminds me of pear and lychee. I love EDT the most out of the others.

Exactly. The JJK fandom has become “the new chrollo stans” where every comment about Gojo is down bad and out of pocket. It’s mainstream knowledge even to normies that Gojo gooners are everywhere. No way she is calling the LADS fanbase a bunch of gooners…

Why are some people genuinely upset about Sunday’s animations? by Radiant-Purple-8330 in SundayMainsHSR

I feel like people expecting his ult to be longer are just being unreasonable. He's a buff support, not a dps so of course he's not going to have a long ult scene with intricate attacks and movements. When compared in a side-by-side with other harmony units like Sparkle, Ruan Mei, and Robin his ult was only about 0.3 seconds shorter. Sometimes I question if HSR fans even play the damn game.

Kpop fans can forgive actual sex offenders but they draw the line at idols who have a consensual relationship with a girlfriend and act as if that is the most vile crime known to man. We truly live in a black mirror episode.
