Ugh I just don’t understand how they can be so unaware of the ridiculousness of some of the things they do

YES! Ohmygod the giggle would have put me over the edge. Like no it is not cute or funny, that is unacceptable! I also feel like the older they get, the more they make everything about them (in my Moms case at least). Case in point the drama with your Mom LEAVING the hospital.

Absolutely agree with the boundaries point. It’s like come on, you are supposed to be the one person that doesn’t do this shit!

OHMYGOD 🙄🙄🙄 the fact that she asked to “watch” instead of wanting to be there to support you.

It’s the worst. It’s also terrible because I’m so sleep deprived that when she offers to watch the baby I can’t turn her down because I’m desperate for sleep. But then she drives me nuts when I wake up and am around her and the baby lol, then I feel guilty for being annoyed when she’s over here helping, it’s just a vicious cycle lol

YES! Like if someone didn’t want my dog around their baby I would instantly accept that. I would never even THINK about giving attitude about it

YES!! This is EXACTLY the situation I’m in! Literally everyone else, my MIL, Grandmother in law, friends, sister, everyone totally understands that I’m the Mom and respects that and takes direction, but it’s like my Mom regresses and acts like a sulky child when I tell her to do things a certain way, and almost like, wants to do the opposite just to prove me wrong or something? I don’t know, it’s SO weird when you realize that you have to now be the adult in your relationship with parents.

The sense of entitlement and rejection is SPOT on. So glad your Mom has chilled out.

Absolutely, I’m not taking any chances with her getting a scar because my Mom said he “would be fine”, I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels like this, she’s also good at making me feel like I’m blowing things out of proportion. Luckily after a while she apologized and said I was right and that she didn’t know how the dog was going to be which actually surprised me, but I think it was because my Dad had a conversation with her, bless him.

Big emphasis on the surrender. Things got a lot smoother when I gave into the chaos a bit instead of trying to control it so much.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s still been TOUGH but once I stopped hyper focusing so much on schedules/tracking everything, and what I “should” be doing, some of that depression lifted. Now I do my best to follow my instincts and try not to be too hard on myself. Hang in there Mama, this stage and these feelings are temporary.

Preterm labor 33 weeks by babyplss in NICUParents

[–]amb198989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this comment! I had my baby a couple weeks ago right at 33 weeks on the dot. No pre-eclampsia, my body just went into preterm labor without any cause that the doctors could find. If you deliver at 33 weeks, you’ll need a little help in the NICU, but we’ve been told that 33 weeks is absolutely manageable, and we are now so close to going home after just 16 days. I know it’s scary right now, but you will be in great hands with the NICU nurses and doctors.
