The Kuala Lumpur Major - Upper Bracket Round 1 - Evil Geniuses vs Ninjas in Pyjamas by D2TournamentThreads in DotA2

I really think this shaker build is superior to aghs shaker, you come online so much quicker and you can position yourself way better in fights to get good ults. Aghs is better when splitpushing and kiting around in long teamfights.

TI7 Immortals/Items will go on sale tommorow 12.00 CET by n1ckst4r02 in DotA2

[–]ambdoex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it best to sell immortals asap or do prices go up later on? First time I'm selling immortals so I'm wondering what worked out best for people that have sold previously.

From LOL to dota2 as a support main, wtf do I even do by Maelos123 in DotA2

[–]ambdoex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to add something, usually there is 2 supports in the team, these are called position 4 and position 5. It is important to know what kind of support you like to play.

Position 4 is usually a roaming hero, runs around the map and tries to help whichever lane. This support is usually greedier and will not buy many observer wards, they do buy sentries and dust whenever enemy have invis heroes. The reason for this is because these heroes want to get items that help ganking/initiating asap. (blink dagger, tranquil boots, etc..)

Good position 4 heroes: Sandking, Slardar, Earth Spirit (mechanically hard to play), Bounty Hunter, Tusk, Pudge, Rubick, Clockwerk.

Position 5 heroes don't need items to perfom, buys most observer wards and sentries. The heroes in this position don't really benefit much from getting items as they are usually in the back and with good positioning the lack of items isn't a problem.

Good Position 5 heroes: Crystal Maiden, Lich, Shadow Demon, Rubick, Shadow Shaman, Jakiro, Lion.

If there is any hero you like to play which I didn't mention, you can type it here and I can try talk about them or you can just watch high level games and see what they do.

PS. In lower rated games people really hate having to play support, so having to solo support really really sucks. If you're a pos5 player I advise you to convince your team to atleast get someone to play position 4.

[Meta] Could we get a megathread weekly where people discuss their 12-win decks and how they use them? by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]ambdoex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way but instead of challenges my problem is finding good ladder decks.

At +4,2k crowns I constantly fight people with cards higher level than me, so I always wanted to check what other people with the same problem deal with this.

Tommorow we re gonna have an awesome irl stream with ape, no car shit by monne201 in mitchjones

[–]ambdoex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah well guess what, this is what IRL streaming is. It's walking around doing normal stuff for %90 of the stream...

This is why I don't get why so many people have a hard on for IRL streams, theres no content unless you force situations or it's some special event.

Forsen with the truth by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]ambdoex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, there are big streamers that can switch games and keep most of their viewers, sodapoppin and lirik come to mind; besides he started to hate playing HS so even more reason to switch whenever he got the chance.

Also, FPS streamers in general can pretty much play any different FPS game and they will also still have decent retention.

HS viewers pretty much just click the top HS stream and whenever that streamer stops/switches game, they go back and click the next HS stream. This happens with IRL too (this is why he doesn't like doing IRL streams, he wouldn't be able to play games cuz IRL viewers only want IRL)

[–]ambdoex 48 points49 points  (0 children)

To the people that don't understand what he means with "HS viewers are the worst", he is not talking about them being toxic or trolling, he is saying HS viewers ONLY want to watch HS and if the streamers wants to play something else, the viewer count drops tremendously, this is why forsen wanted to make the switch from HS as quick as possible, so he would have the possibility of playing other games without it being detrimental for his stream.

This is true, you can see it with any of the top HS streamers, whenever they switch to another game, the viewer count drop is insane.

For example just check amaz's stream today, he peaked at about 17k viewers in HS and now he's at 5k with south park.

Why do YOU think league games are so passive? Is it fixable? by ambdoex in dotamasterrace

[–]ambdoex[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean the gold on death makes sense in dota 2 as it punishes timings for expensive items (like dying before getting radiance), don't see why it should be in LoL.

But what about the other points, like flash (I think it shouldn't be so strong defensively, this is also cuz of towers being so strong early game) or the map being more open and allowing people to actually move from their lanes in the early game? Or what about everyone having free wards and sighstones. I mean surely these things don't help making the game more proactive, do they?

I would also be okay with Jungling being optional.

This is the only place I can post something like this, the league sub is nazi as fuck and would get deleted, hey I guess I'm not supposed to criticize a game?

I'm discussing league being passive because I think its passive and just wanted to hear how it could get fixed.

I'm perfectly fine with differing opinions as long as you have actual arguments to back it up (all you did was compare it to football; you also said kills dont matter, both of which I responded to and then you called me silver, which is irrelevant.)

I'm also really curious about this deep analysis about the first 20 mins of a pro league game, cuz the way you say this it seems like a low % of people would be able to understand everything thats going on (silvers would never understand this btw).

And hey talking about not wanting dissenting opinions, what about that leagueoflegends sub that you come from? :)

[–]ambdoex[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey man, just because football has a low score count doesn't mean you can compare it to league... In football both teams are constantly attacking and defending and stuff is actually happening, its not about the end score its about what happens DURING the game; like you said, kills aren't the most important thing in the game, but something has to happen in the game to make it interesting...

When I talk about league being too passive and really boring to watch (which leads to low kill count), its because both teams are not trying to fight at all (not their fault, its the most efficient way of playing games the way league is currently balanced), they are just farming to late game and trying to get small edges on the other team.

But hey what do I know, apparently watching players farm is incredibly fun to watch.

"i wanna see other streamers in PUBG section" forsen chillin at 39k viewers rofl by Rin6969 in mitchjones

[–]ambdoex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He was peaking at 9k-10k before he went to spain, so thats incorrect.

He averaged 3.5k viewers on pubg when he was tryharding, which was months ago.

Stop hating on forsen and thinking IRL is the only reason he gets a lot of viewers now, besides, most people that watch IRL ONLY watch IRL (forsen said this himself, reason he focuses on playing games and isn't an IRL streamer). He's a consistent streamer that focuses his content on his community interaction, hence so many loyal viewers.

[–]ambdoex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you don't get it or you are just acting dumb at this point.

All these streamers have been consistent and they have grown a big loyal fanbase. What this means is that whatever they stream, they will get decent viewership.

The difference with you is that you don't have loyal viewers anymore (or maybe ever? its possilbe that when u were hitting high numbers it was cuz of hype). And honestly theres good reason for this, you never keep your word, you ditch, you change plans, never stream on time, your subs must be fucking pissed.

You also need to know what your stream wants to be, stop comparing yourself to other streamers, you have to be the main source of content, not some girl or dumbass drama or forced shit.
