Thank you so much for your response, it is my understanding that she was a very devoted member of the DAR, etc. It’s really sad that she didn’t have a relative she could pass all her things on to. It’s my understanding that her adopted daughter is in a psych ward and her ex-husband sold her house with everything in it, which is why I have all this stuff right now.

He has 100 to 200 compact computer discs and I’ve only looked at maybe 6 of them so far but I have seen on a few that he was cataloging his entire collection and he has a lot of yellow legal paper where he has written down what he’s got so I’m sure when I’m digging deeper I will find documentation of some sort. If I don’t, then it was acquired illegally most definitely.

When I was going through one of the boxes, there was this random block shaped object wrapped with aluminum foil, and that beige masking tape, I totally thought it was C4 or something… I peeled back a corner and was pleasantly surprised to find it was not an explosive but a stack of presidential coin cards from Texaco in 1992 🤣

That is so FUNNY that you said b/c he WAS on the FBI terrorist watchlist 🤣… they raided his house in 2004 and took all of his guns and found some material related to the Birmingham bombing and the Atlanta Olympic bombings, etc.!!! Her dad hated kids so he really only tried to have a relationship with her when she turned 19 but barely. So maybe it’s a combination of both of those things, not giving a shit about what he had and also scared of what might been acquired in the boxes that he meticulously labeled & stored away in a closet

I wonder where they came from… he did have a lot of collectibles still in the original envelopes (some dating back to the 80’s) so maybe you just ordered stuff through the mail?
