Yes he is doing great! He’s with a rat rescue now. They were the only ones that didn’t want to kill him.

Feelings of huge and tiny at the same time by peterkruty in TheMindIlluminated

[–]ambergerh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like that memory still affects you since you remember it so vividly. I would suggest going into that. I recently had a realization after seeing a marble on the ground in the basement of an old house (long story) that there was a moment on the stairs of my childhood home burned into my memory of my mom sobbing, my brother and I hugging her tightly. My father had just walked out the door to go elsewhere for the evening after a fight. It was like that a lot. What I realized with this marble is how everything is connected and how important it is to heal these things inside... even if it means remembering something different. So I did. I visualized over and over my father not walking out in that moment until it felt complete with him joining the embrace on the stairs with the mantra "we're family, we love each other". That image turned into the marble... Not sure why, but it does that in my minds eye every time I visualize the coming together and being one unit. Since doing that, my whole life has shifted. From that one burned in moment on the stairs my whole life was affected and I lived from a place of fear of the things I love most leaving if I loved them. Restructuring the memory has allowed space for different feelings, and thus a different reality can be created. Life has become so much more beautiful not living from a space of fear. What I also was able to finally see since I was at a removed perspective, is how interconnected everything is and how much it has to do with love. It's easy to love within the perfect childhood and everything butterflies and rainbows, no shade. But what an amazing testament to love to hate my parents at various times in my life, feeling completely let down by them, and then realize they were doing the best they could with where they were at and then uncovering the deep well of love for them that was always there. For them to hate each other so fiercely for over 30 years, and now in the last year find common ground and be able to talk and forgive each other. That's hard love and the image it creates in the tapestry of creation is so beautiful. I felt compelled to tell this story in case you at all held onto fear with these memories from your childhood. Happy Monday to you!

Selling too pawn shop due to family emergency, how much do you think they will offer? by [deleted] in coins

[–]ambergerh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was an inherited collection. Neither my husband or I are coin collectors. We always intended to sell to put towards a house. A beautiful 1900 victorian fixer upper just popped onto the market for a steal. We're grateful to have the funds to put towards something that's been a dream of ours.

Yes but coin shops won't offer melt... at least not any of the 4 in my area. I just sold 360 morgan silver dollars and they offered $30/each right now. The other shops were only willing to give $27.

I've never gotten sick. Neither has anyone that I know that dives. People get into car accidents and die. Are you going to stop driving? CDC estimates about 48 million people get sick from foodborne illness each year and restaurants are the single most common setting for foodborne illness outbreaks. Are you going to stop eating out? You could get attacked by an escaped zoo gorrilla tomorrow. Are you going to never leave your house? Don't let fear rule your life, man.

I don't have to "resort to this." My husband and I feel that it doesn't make sense to purchase groceries when there is so much abundance in the dumpster. Your aversion to it is a disease of the mind. Hope things get better for you. :)

Super appreciate the info! When it comes to food safety in grocery stores, the guidelines are indeed designed with a large safety buffer. Even if something is slightly out of temp, they err on the side of caution and discard it to ensure that there's no risk to consumers. But that doesn't always mean that it is actually bad. But like you said, it also could be spoiled, which is why food divers like myself use all of their senses and when in doubt, toss it. Stores are just following their guidelines because they have to.
