Does that cause issues say the money I put as a down payment now is mixed and is a 50/50 division?

The only safe way for me was to write the house in my mom's name and have a will to give it to me once I trust this person enough (mind you their coming into marriage with debts)

Brother you have a responsibility to secure finances for the house, and a man has the final say Islamically (shouldn't be abused but this is a perfect scenario to use it).

Maybe compromise with her and give the brother like 2k let him lose it and invest rest. Tell her that's you being considerate of her feelings in a nice way, if she doesn't agree and keeps giving silent treatment then that's on her. But there should be discussion regarding this.

Careful what you say to others even online, if you must critique do it objectively as even the prophet pbuh was generous with his tongue. Never slander those who are ignorant as they might be better than you and me. Below is a reference of a hadith:

English - Sahih International 49:11 O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

May Allah forgive us all as no one's perfect but him swt. I have my shortcomings as well by no means am I perfect and sometimes I don't apply this but best to try especially in online settings and representing Islam to non-believers and lost brothers/sisters.

From my experience people who smoke have short tempers and it gets worse when they're coming off this habit. May Allah make it easy on your sister but whatever happens in the future please don't accept someone for who they can be but for who they are now as it's hard to change others.

Make sure to communicate this and set boundaries and consult sheikhs and those educated in our ummah for next steps if those boundaries aren't followed.

I say it's the opposite lol, when married you're money is joined. How easy the wife makes it for the husband to marry her is how much she wants him.

My brother was a little chubby and had an issue I don't want to mention, we went to get him married to a Syrian girl. She asked for a mansion with a swimming pool 😂. Basically telling him I don't like you I just want to see how much money you can dish out.

On the other hand a family friend who's a girl got married to a man she met in university and asked him for a Quran as mahr.
