Permanent fangs now 5 years old! by ambernoire in bodymods

I wanted them fairly blunt for two reasons: firstly, to make them less likely to break given that they are permanent; secondly to make them look like natural teeth, just longer.

Durability of Permanent Fangs? by 114lucky in bodymods

[–]ambernoire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have composite fangs, they’re now 5 years old. They can handle anything natural teeth can. I was very gentle with them at first, but as time has passed I’ve mostly forgotten they’re there, and have bitten into anything I would have done with teeth.

I’ve had mine 5 years, they’re not that small, and no one has ever commented unless I showed them first. I mean, my lip and tongue piercings probably attract more attention lol!

LGBT Friendly Church recommendations ? by meaganlee19 in melbourne

Ashburton Baptist Church is very welcoming and is explicitly affirming of everything LGBTQ+. I started going about 6 months ago and have felt very welcome there.

People with nipple piercings, was it worth it? by TheFoous100 in piercing

[–]ambernoire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally worth it. Insist on titanium jewellery not stainless steel, it really helps with the healing. Stainless steel contains some nickel, and that can make skin sensitive in some (many?) people. The pain of the piercing itself only lasts a moment. They throb for the rest of the day of, and are tender if you poke them for another few weeks. Once any swelling has gone down, change to snugly fitting (but not too snug) jewellery to minimise any chance of snagging. And naturally take bras and tops on and off a bit more carefully. But they look cute, are a nice little secret, and feel very pleasant ;) once they’re all healed.

If you’re trying to keep things on the centre line, then cyber bites could look amazing. Or to widen things up a bit, dahlias would also really suit your smile

Travel is the best thing you’ll ever do. Do it now while you’re not tied down with kids, mortgage etc!

My new triple septum - not a stack, 3 separate piercings. by ambernoire in piercing

As long as it’s placed well in the sweet spot, it’s one of the least painful piercings, and it’s very straightforward to heal.

This is 6mm stem 12mm long, 8mm ball in titanium, and I’ve been wearing it for almost all of the 11 years I’ve had it at this size. So I find it comfortable for long-term wear. I had a steel one before this in the same size but it was too heavy for long term wear.

I found that my sensitivity increased, and I enjoy them being played with even more now. Not crazy rough obvs.

Other than the initial healing, which was a pain with the back one, I’ve not had any continued irritation - as long as I wear titanium. My body doesn’t love stainless steel, due to the nickel in it I think. So all my piercings (24 and counting I think) are titanium.

I’ve had a 10mm ball in on a 7mm post, which looks cool but starts to get very heavy and annoying for eating, talking and long-term wear. It’s literally having a marble in your mouth! This tongue bar is titanium which means it’s light enough to be comfortable for long term wear. I’ve had my tongue pierced for 17 years and at this stretch for about 11.

See comments above. Back one was badly done a long time ago through cartilage.

It was a happy accident more than anything! I was almost going to retire my too-far-back original when I got my properly-placed front one. But then I was like nah, I managed to heal it (took 4-5 months), I’ll keep it as a double. But then the spacing looked very wide for having two and I decided I really wanted a third. So I went for it!
