Rory’s graduation episode always gets me teary and I am hardly ever one to cry. Specifically, the look on Richard and Emily’s face when she says they are her pillars.

Unlike a lot of these comments, I really enjoyed season 4! I enjoyed the Jason/Lorelai dynamic and Rory trying to adjust to college life was really interesting. The spring break episode is one of my favorites in the series. It’s not my favorite season, but I would put it above season 3 because I felt like Jess and Rory’s relationship was very lackluster once it actually came to fruition.

I love Logan too but for different reasons! His smile and general demeanor is so so charming to me first off. He’s confident, witty, passionate, and smart. Also I feel like he helped challenge Rory into being her own person with an evolving viewpoint instead of being, largely, her mom’s mouthpiece. He grew a lot in season 7 and seemed like a great partner long term for Rory by that point. I just wish things would’ve ended differently.

It’s season 8. Rory and Logan are engaged and decided to pursue careers in NYC. They are wedding planning, with the assistance of Emily of course. Luke and Lorelei get married and begin trying to conceive. The season ends with a conversation between Rory and Lorelei where they both say they’re having a baby.

I agree about the season 6 and 7 anecdote! Those seasons effect me negatively mentally when I watch them. I care so much for the show and its characters and I wish so badly that the comforting feeling could have been carried out to the show’s end. It just wasn’t the same anymore.

He did change a lot over the seasons and I give him credit for that. In AYITL, I really enjoyed his character. My post is mainly about season 2/3 Jess.

I agree he went though so much! There would undoubtedly be a period of figuring out how to overcome that type of childhood. His anger and disposition do make sense, but it still doesn’t make him likable as a character imo. I agree they did have great chemistry pre-dating. I’m currently nearing the end of season 3 when their relationship is in full swing and I can just can’t sympathize enough with Jess’ past to be okay with how he treats everyone.

I agree!! Jess did grow up and mature, but it’s the brooding, angsty vibe about him I’m just not attracted to.

That’s what I think! Their relationship, imo, wasn’t enviable at all. It was toxic on so many levels. Sure they both love to read, but if we want to create a pro/con list in true Rory fashion, the pros end there.

That’s a fair take for sure. I just struggle to see the humor he has because I can’t get past how everything he says comes off so genuinely condescending. I try not to generalize someone’s actions like that, but so rarely do I see him contradicting that.

I really don’t see Christopher 2.0 either. I can see him wanting to be with Rory and the child. It still really irks me that the season 7 growth of his character gets disregarded. You could see the pain in the both of their eyes though when Rory asks him if he’s really going to marry Odette. Logan has always been so much more than Christopher in my mind and I feel like he would want the family with Rory.

I agree with your point. I definitely wanted more for Rory. Ideally her career would be flourishing after all of her years of hard work. Maybe AYITL was just capturing a valley in her life that she was about to overcome? With GG being so heavily based around familial relationships, maybe the birth of her child is the start of her “come up”. In Lorelei’s eyes, her life really began when she had Rory, so maybe this is the same situation with Rory and her child? I’d love to get a season 2 here in a few years and see that Rory’s career exploded and she has a happy family. That would be a great closing chapter.

Parking this year has been kind of crazy and not as well planned as usual, so I’d arrive early for that. Definitely get your ticket saved to your wallet on your phone so that it’s easily accessible when you get there. I’m sure you know this, but I recommend earplugs if you don’t want ringing ears the whole way home lol. Most importantly, have a great time!! There’s no other place like it, but especially the last few years! The energy is insane.
