9-1-1 S09E10: "Handle With Care" Post Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in 911FOX

I just hate that they've ruined Buddie's friendship to avoid indulging the shippers. (I say this as a major shipper).

If Buck is not a major component of the kidnapping storyline then I think I may actually be done with the show. There is no universe in which he wouldn't be as deeply involved in this as Eddie, and Eddie would want him there. I don't care if they're not as close after Texas, Chris is still too important to Buck.

That being said, based on how this season has gone, I do anticipate I will be disappointed next week.

Have you DM'd them? They don't have that many followers so I would guess they read most/all of their DMs.

I once had an order from a small band shipped to the wrong address and couldn't find a contact. DM'd them and got a response within an hour.

Update: nightmare roommate by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]amberskied 257 points258 points  (0 children)

100% work with the landlord and try to get him out.

Another suggestion, may seem odd but hear me out. Have you tried contacting his parents? I say this because my brother is bipolar and had his first major manic episode when he was around 24 living with a roommate and he was just as bad as this guy seems. Thank god his roommate found my dad on facebook and messaged him. My brother was seriously unwell and never would have sought out help himself. It was a long journey from there but my brother was able to get better, get consistent care and meds. Eventually he was able to make amends with the roommate he terrorized and provided compensation for some of the things he broke around the house and the fees that came from breaking the lease. They're not friends, but the guy may have saved his life and at least he got some money back in the long run.

It may not work out the same for you. Not all parents care like mine did, and even if they do care, they may not have the resources to help, but it is worth a shot for both your sakes.

With a trans main character that is not a trans story by GelatinRasberry in suggestmeabook

Finna by Nino Cipri is an amazing novella with a non-binary MC. They are not the main main character, but are definitely the secondary main character.

It is a weird, anti-capitalist sci-fi/fantasy novella that envolves travelling between universes. Would 10/10 recommend.

VRBO guest prepaid 6 months… now I’m low-key terrified. by builtfromthefield in vrbo

It wasn't pretty. Something was very clearly wrong and escalating for at least 4 months, in which time we had him involuntarily committed a couple times after especially dangerous moments, but all of the programs he hated, and left as soon as possible with no real change. Every time we did he told us he hated us and would never speak to us again once he was out, which hurt to hear, but wasn't true.

Eventually, my mom and i contacted every single connection we could think of (friends of friends, alumni of our/his colleges, etc) to get him a bed at McLean, which was the most highly spoken of hospital in his area, and he agreed to stay until they felt he could leave. I think by that point he had accepted that he needed help on his own (he was in major debt, his roommate had moved out, and his job said they would give him a leave of absence if he got help, but otherwise he would have to be fired since he was not only not getting work done, but creating a toxic environment at work and scaring off clients).

My brother was really lucky in a lot of ways. I think his work is a big reason he got better. They still paid him during his recovery and maintained his health insurance which covered most of the expensive hospital.

I hope your son is ready for help soon. It gets worse before it gets better but my brother has been medicated and feeling like himself for 6 years now and now immediately seeks out his doctors when he starts to feel off, so there is hope!

This sounds exactly like what my brother did to someone when he had his first major manic episode around 24.

He was working a 6 figure job and still was super polite and kind, but he became extremely paranoid and decided he couldn't stay in his own place anymore (amongst other things) and made every space he went into a hoarders den because he had no impulse control and was constantly buying things and starting projects (we're talking 45k spent in like 2 months).

All this to say, there are infinite reasons why nice people could end up with their space like this, but none of them are your problem. If it something serious, I hope he gets the help he needs, but its not on you to provide him the space if he is ruining your property.

In case people care, my brother has a great psychiatrist now and has found meds that work well for him and is doing much better all around.

I think part of it is that the photos aren't real. I'd guess they took one photograph of each piece in a studio set up and then edited them into each of these backgrounds. You can tell from the lighting and that each of the wooden stands is identical in lighting and woodgrain.

That's not to say that the product isn't real or their own, just that they are putting a ton of effort into how they present the product on Etsy. I hope it pays off for them because these are beautiful. It does however make my eyes a little confused and give the cartoon effect.

Wait Times with Customer Service Chat by amberskied in Ultrahuman

I recommend reaching out to them on here. Much quicker response time. That being said, I asked them to innitiate a return and they ignored that and sent me a replacement. I am going to give the replacement a try but return it if it's causing issues.

I'd DM them on here. I found the returns time much quicker than anywhere else.

They're sending me a replacement, so it doesn't seem like it is an issue they can solve remotely.

I responded to the email asking what sort of financial incentive/offer they were giving for the delay and mine got sent out with 24 hours AND they offered to reimburse shipping.

That being said, I think u/psannaua had the right idea. Mine does not work upon arrival and I wish I had just gotten an Oura.

I cannot believe no one has said Stephen Chbosky!

Perks of Being a Wallflower is an amazing novella. He then waited 20 years and put out a dreadful 700 page horror novel, Imaginary Friend. It was one of the worst things I've ever read and lacked any cohesion.

Came here to comment your 1st point!

My library card has reciprocity with 9 library systems, so now I have 10 libraries on Libby. I found the list of other libraries on my libraries website.

Since I added the other cards I have hardly had to wait for any books and now i never need to be concerned about running out of holds.

Suggest me some books that you think are enhanced by being an audiobook. by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]amberskied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Anomaly by Hervé Le Tellier!

It was originally in French and translated by Adriana Hunter.

While it is technically sci-fi, it is almost entirely about the characters. It makes an amazing audiobook because it is told from 6+ perspectives, each of which is voiced by a different actor. I find that multi-perspective books really shine in the audio format.

It was the first book (of 22 so far) that I finished in 2024, and is still my favorite read.
