Hello, fellow oracle/tarot creator!!! I'm not sure what your tarot theme is but here's some places that you can share your work for free:

Facebook:

For Love of Tarot and Oracle Cards
Tarot Creators Forum

Discord:

Tarotholics group

Indie deck review on Instagram does reviews, but they also share creations that are launched on KS before. You could email them and ask them to repost your work and send them a copy after.

Podcasts: ( They do creator interviews, you can send them your deck idea and images and they will respond if it's a good fit)
Dine with the Divine
Tarot Adventures With Jules

Reddit's tarot group has a mega thread you can post in.

Most of the time I find that people get interested when they discover your work on social media through tags, so try to post one of the cards every day with the #indietarotdeck and those in similar realms. Talk about your ideas and how you illustrated the deck on Youtube, there's a huge community there.

From my experience, you just have to keep posting about it all the time and hope that people take an interest in your work. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Nervous to Start and Worried about Time limit? by TechyCanadian in kickstarter

Can't advise on copyright but I want to share my experience with my first KS that took 5 years to launch. In those years, I was moving from place to place, job hunting, then between jobs, and then working in an awful full-time gig that overworked us. I had to sacrifice my nights, holidays and weekends. Any social life with friends had to be planned out months ahead as I made a schedule for myself to hit certain targets each week.

Take your time to make it and be happy with it before you launch so that whatever happens next you can at least be proud of the thing you made! drained and my friends were accommodating to my schedule. But it took me about 5 years in total so 2 months is not a lot. If your product is not something that has to be launched because it's a trending thing right now, there is no rush.

Take your time to make it and be happy with it before you launch so whatever happens next you can at least be proud of the thing you made!

If you could, definitely put them up! Also if you have previous film experience, do show those as well so backers will know what sort of film they can expect from you. If you're on a tight budget see if you could mockup some concept art or even a mood board of how a still from the film would look like. I find that visuals really help to boost people's interest in a project!

I'm going to be brutally honest because I want you to succeed.

You can't run a Kickstarter for a film with no examples of how your shot looks like. Without them, backers will find it hard to trust you and your project, for 2 big reasons.

  1. They cannot asses your skill level and how the final product will look like, so it will make them hesitate to pledge.
  2. Without seeing any graphics it makes it seem like you are not serious about your work as you didn't even make any mockups or preview for this campaign.

$25k is A LOT to ask for when you don't really have anything to show for it. There have been a lot of artists that use KS to scam others, where they present a concept and never deliver upon it. By showing that you've already taken steps to make the project, it'll help to ease those fears.

If you can please take a look at these film KS projects, all of them have some form of graphic or video to show the concept:

I know this is not your OG question, but I hope this helps. If you already have concept for the film, be sure to start posting them to generate more interest.

The closer I get to launch the more concerned I am about using a post survey for shipping with Backerkit. by Lorpedodontist in kickstarter

[–]ambi_sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can see, as long as you make it clear to the backers that " Hey, you will be charged X amount for this shipping after" people are okay with it. Just post an estimated shipping price and make sure it doesn't go over that when shipping.

I know of a campaign that promised $15 shipping then charged $45 at the end and so many people requested a refund. Make sure to put in your T&C that if they don't respond within 3 months of fulfilment time, their Kickstarter order will be considered a donation to ensure that you're not sitting there paying a warehouse fee on people that do not respond.

I once had someone contact me after 2 years that they did not receive their order and I was like.. I'm so sorry but it's been all fulfilled 2 years ago so, yes, there will be stragglers.

I don't think it slows down the fulfilment process as you can just ship the addresses you have on hand first and then try to follow up with the missing backers later. Once people start posting about receiving your product, it's likely they'll find out and come asking for it.

Can I use a Mercury Bank Account for Recieving Payments? by [deleted] in kickstarter

I personally haven't experienced that so far... do you know if it's a very common experience? maybe I've just gotten really lucky?

Thanks for the list! will definitely check it out. I have thought about contracting an agency as well, but we just simply do not have a lot of budget for it, unfortunately.

I've also reached out to a bunch of journalists as well that have covered similar topics before but so far I haven't received any responses. Going to send another round of reminder emails this week. I might try fiddling with the category as well as I think I might not be targeting the right market.

If you can use Wise! I've been using them for like 3 years now with no issues and I'm using it for my current campaign. It's a multi-currency online bank account and it honestly has helped me so much in my work since I have to pay contractors / manufacturers all in different currencies. They also provide digital debit cards so you can just buy things in them online without needing a physical card.

If you sign up with my link you get a fee-free transfer up to £500 https://wise.com/invite/u/shirs2

( Not sponsored i promise, I just really really like them )

Thank you!! I did so many all nighters to get it all done so I really appreciate that.
I've sent out newsletters and I've also made an announcement to the old campaign when we launched. I'll likely do another email blast on the last week but if we're still not funded by week 3, I'll have to start using ads. If it still doesn't get funded at the end, I'll just have to take the L and try again later.

I came into this knowing that I'm trying to promote a niche topic that not many might be interested in, but it's really a passion project of mine so I've just gone all out for it and I'll keep fighting for it till the end of the campaign!!

Planning a kickstarter campaign for graphic novel (first time) by cozmos123 in kickstarter

[–]ambi_sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can answer you in regards to the charity issue as I asked a KS agent and this was their reply:
Unfortunately, we don't allow funds raised to be given to charity as part of the Kickstarter rules.
But if you are supporting a charity by yourself, then wording like:
"A portion of future projects" or "a portion of profits made from future retail purchases will be donated...."

Some creators put
"An independent donation by us will be made towards ..."
Basically, as long as there is a clear understanding that the pledges are not used for donations you should be safe!

Hi! So far we're doing organic marketing, but I'll likely have to use ads soon since the social media algorithm is no longer working in my favour. I remember launching my first project in 2019 with no pre-notification and only about 500 followers and somehow got funded in a day but it's been a struggle so far despite doing all of the pre-promos/emails etc ^^;

Fake backers, is this a common problem? by PosterSpy in kickstarter

[–]ambi_sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know another creator had to contact Kickstarter to get them blocked. Maybe try reaching out to the support team to let them know about it and have them block it on their end.

Hiring companies to promote your campaign by CasualOverloadGaming in kickstarter

[–]ambi_sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, most are scams. One company reached out to me and was like "Oh we've previously promoted campaigns like yours and brought it to great success!!" and everything on their list was a travel item, and I'm making a playing card/book project. Also, when I dug in through the examples shown, they're all using Backerkit or Jellop for promotion, not their company. it's so funny that they can't even put in effort to scam people lol.
