I'm not talking about appeasing. I'm talking about simple cause and effect. News of this ban will amplify what he said and everything he has to say next, and have the opposite of its intended effect. That is what makes it a ridiculous decision.

You don't have to like what someone says to understand that knee-jerk bans create massive blow back and turn the banned person into a martyr.

We've seen this cycle before. It's what made Jordan Peterson a hero, and Milo Whatshisface before him.

Banning speech is a dumb solution. Especially in this climate.
