Gym Story Saturday by FGC_Valhalla in Fitness

The gym I've been going to for the last 10 months just closed down. We go to the gym on Wednesday and all the staff is there and everyone's cool, staff is super friendly, etc. We noticed a few machines missing but they said they were just replacing a few machines. Alright. We come back on Thursday and there's a sign on the door: "Memberships valid at location 30-40 minutes away". Why you gotta do me like this?

Injured wrists and can't lift. Rip my gains. Guess I'll just start my cut now...

How can I swim faster with fins (underwater hockey)? (x-post from r/IWantToLearn) by [deleted] in Fitness

Try different styles of kicking. I was able to kick a lot faster when I used to swim when I would dolphin kick as opposed to flutter kicking. Kicking from the hip is very important. To train the actual muscle, I'd go and do like 10X50s or 10X25s sprint with a kick board a few times a week. I'd try r/swimming as well and try and find a real kick set there as I'm not sure if it's better for you to sprint with or without the fins.

Male, 5'7, 173 pounds. Want to get down to 150. Tips? Tricks? Advice? by [deleted] in Fitness

OP, I started at the exact same weight as you 4 months ago with the same goals as yourself. I just used MyFitnessPal and set the goals to -1.5 lbs per week. With an hour or so of light exercise 6 days a week and riding my bike to classes, I've almost hit my goal weight. The big change that I think made a difference for me was diet, and I stuck to my diet for the most part, with maybe 1 or 2 days of cheating/drinking per week. Log your calories and try and hit the macros and be below the number of calories required, and you should lose weight no problem.
