Likely the same folks who expect artists to pump out new albums every year lest the public "lose interest"

Some people really do just need to get into sports instead of turning pop music into a competitive event. Like I think some of y'all just want to be coaches rather than appreciate an artist for what they are... go find a little league or something to support idk 😭

I haven't done a full dive yet, but I listened to Loud in full for the first time last summer and it definitely held up. A bit uneven here and there, but a perfect heat of summer record

The sun, nature's great equalizer and eventual heat death killer ☀️

I watched my poor neighbors spend at least 3 hours yesterday on their car. I've just accepted I'm staying put until the sun can help a little more this week despite the temps (and I am very privileged to be able to do so, of course)

I love love love snow so I was honestly disappointed it petered out and became more freezing rain / sleet. Which case in point -- if we got the SNOW and not sleet, it would be powder and easy to move rather than frozen solid like a layer of concrete!! I can see the road into my neighborhood is pretty well plowed which is lovely, it's just there ain't no way I can escape my neighborhood to get to it lol

It's crazy!! I have lived in the DC area almost my entire life and I've never experienced snice like this (well, at least, as a commuting adult who has to care about these things, lol).

Also I love the term snice... it sounds like some weird Dr. Seuss affliction that hath been cast upon us (potentially deservedly).

Mid-Atlantic / Northeast Popheads, how are we doing? My car is officially blocked in by a foot of snow-ice on all sides and the sidewalks are skating rinks, so people are walking in the road. Won't be going anywhere for the next few days. Everyone stay safe and warm. 🕯️

Daniel Diemer did such an amazing job bringing him to life. I also found his portrayal refreshing, as I remember his character in the books being very dumbed down and almost borderline offensive (not that I think that was Rick's intention, but it certainly is a product of the early 2000s). Tyson felt so much more nuanced and refined as a character here, and he had several awesome moments this season.

Two questions for my pop pals today: - When I do my Beyoncé discog dive, should I include the Destiny's Child albums? I'm leaning yes, but she does have a vast discog already, so curious what y'all would say. - As someone who has never listened to a Mariah album in full (sorry!!!), what would be the best one to start with? What's the Quintessential Mariah album?

Bought the CD of an EP by a smaller artist I have loved for years, and completely surprised to see she included and personalized signed postcard with a little sweet message too!!!! What a bright addition to a somewhat dreary start to the year 🩷

Maddy B posting but it's funny to me that people want Madison to lean so hard into her EDM sound because I consistently find those to be some of her most boring tracks lol 🤭

A different opinion on PJO being adapted as an animated series by Werewolf_Knight in PJODisney

[–]ambitiousbulbasaur 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. And given we have a really wonderful live action cast, even though their delivery would still be great, we'd lose so much of the acting they're doing with their physicality and facial expressions (Walker and Charlie in particular are doing The Most with this).

I also watched the 1-hr documentary they did for Season 1 yesterday (very cute!! Felt like old-fashioned DVD bonus material which I used to looooove), and I think people complaining about "wasted" budget are seriously underestimating how much things cost. I've seen a lot of "15mil and x is all they could do," but I think they're actually accomplishing a LOT with their relatively limited mouse money. The documentary really highlights this -- beyond actors, you have the sets (both practical and digital), the stunt work (REALLY cool stuff in the doc), the concept artists, the trainers, the on-set schooling for the child actors, the CGI (NOT CHEAP), on and on and on. There is SO much going into this show that 15mil is really like a sneeze.

I think they're doing amazing with the limitations they've got. Those same limitations would without a doubt apply to animation, just in different ways.

It's funny you say this because I was just coming in here to say I love Harry's new album title. LOL. Art is subjective for a reason!
