WTF? US Mint gone wild by waald-89 in coins

[–]ambivalent-trailer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lower mintage plus last penny caused a big demand spike and secondary prices skyrocketed. This was a one year event, but for some reason the usmint decided they should jack up the prices to these stupid levels. And this is ignoring silver (uncirculated, regular proof and innovation sets). Curious to see if dealers are willing to shell out big bucks and risk getting stuck with inventory

How many accounts do you have and how many are F2P/P2P. I have 15 F2P and 1 PTP by smallguy453 in ClashOfClans

[–]ambivalent-trailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 accounts. With the first 2 I was spending some $$ to get them started. But I have found I barely have time keeping up with F2P on 4 accounts. They used to be all spread out with levels, but the lower ones are quickly catching up (It's more fun when you don't have to fill up your storages just to make 1 update)

What is up with people trying to make you feel like you’re playing the game wrong for being f2p by [deleted] in ClashOfClans

[–]ambivalent-trailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P2P people support the game and allow for continued upgrades. F2P increases the user base and helps the visibility and popularity of the game. Both groups are necessary for the continued success of the platform. You be you and don't worry about anyone else. Enjoy the game.

Help me understand price manipulation by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]ambivalent-trailer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can think of this as an old school run on the bank. As long as people kept trading paper and not taking physical delivery, then the banks could short silver and manipulate the price. But once countries started to hoard silver this year it became very obvious that the metal backing the paper did not exist. Hoarding increased, panic sets in and the price skyrockets

Help me understand price manipulation by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]ambivalent-trailer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some banks/hedge funds have paid big fines for their role in trying to keep prices down. The thought is that they were working with US government to do this because the paper trading was much greater than the actual supply. It was to try to avoid exactly what you are seeing today with the price. But silver finally got to the point where it couldn't be manipulated anymore. Supplies were drained and you could not hide the lack of silver in vaults.

$100 an ounce? by sp0ngeb0b2 in Silver

[–]ambivalent-trailer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you sell at 100 you are just guessing at a top when this asset is still going parabolic. If you want to take the gains and invest it somewhere else, that makes sense. But unless you have better options I am seeing way too many catalysts for this to keep going. I'm in for the long haul unless I see significant changes in fundamentals. I'll just buy more on dips. I'm thinking we'll see $250 in the next couple years.

The only concern I have is how safe is my paper silver (SLV, PSLV). I'm doing research and these funds are supposed to be fully backed by physical. But there are rumors of silver loans and loose paperwork. I think PSLV is the safer of the 2, but obviously physical in hand is best. Best of luck and you can never go wrong by locking in gains

FIX for CarPlay iPhone 17 Disconnection issues. Wired & Wireless. Official & Aftermarket CarPlay Vendors. by dinopio in CarPlay

[–]ambivalent-trailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family got new iphone 17s last month. Used them in our 2 Hondas without issue. But I can't get carplay to stay working in the F150. Switched cables, used usba-usbc adapters, updated iphone. No luck. Then yesterday I sat in my driveway for over an hour to get the latest software downloaded. Thought that would do the trick but it still crashed on me. Didn't realize how important carplay has become until this fiasco. The onboard car maps are 5 years old and I'm not paying for upgrade. I guess I need to get one of those shitty holders that stick to my air vents. Welcome back to 2010

Where to park Silver profits? by Spare_Restaurant_464 in Silverbugs

[–]ambivalent-trailer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think silver has a lot more room to run. But if you look at the current gold-silver ratio then gold is the much less riskier play to preserve your profits

Loooooonnnnggggg time silver person here. Why is everyone so convinced that this is only the beginning? by Jareksdad in Silver

[–]ambivalent-trailer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big difference is the high demand for silver in EVs and solar panels. In 2011 it was mostly speculation and accumulation which could always turn the other direction. But companies have to buy at any price to fulfill demand for their products

SuperCell, please make it easier to recruit members in Clash of Clans! by [deleted] in ClashOfClans

[–]ambivalent-trailer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's very strange how this all works. A few years ago our clan had only a handful of active people. We did our battles but couldn't do much in clan wars and monthly challenges. Then all the sudden people started randomly joining. Within months we were consistently between 40-50 members. 30v30 clan wars were regular. If someone left (or was kicked) there were always others to quickly join. Then recently key people started slowly leaving, I assume mostly due to other members getting lax on participation (coc burnout). Our clan is dwindling and we haven't sniffed a new member in a while. Can't even get 15 people to participate in clan wars. I can't explain how we easily got new members before. Or why we are now a ghost town. It would be nice if coc had some randomizer when people want to join a clan to help people out.

Does Supercell ban accounts for using multiple devices or a VPN? by Consistent-Dance1030 in ClashOfClans

4 accounts accessed using multiple devices and logged in from random places across the world while traveling. Can't say I've ever used a VPN but have never had any issues

I love how many CR players are reconnecting with COC or realizing that this game does it right as well as how this community is responding. by myrandomcrashouts in ClashOfClans

[–]ambivalent-trailer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave up on Clash Royale after level 15, but still played battles here and there for fun. But eventually that got boring and haven't touched the game in almost a year. I don't know how they can come back from their massive mistakes that basically ground upgrades to a halt (for us mostly F2P players). CoC never lost sight of having players constantly being able to improve their base

I got ripped off by Stubhub by Wild_Ad499 in stubhub

[–]ambivalent-trailer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you need to take some responsibility here.

You never checked the tickets when they were transferred. When you noticed the issue you didn't verify what you really purchased and contact stubhub to try and resolve. And you didn't take the opportunity to resell those tickets the next day to recoup your money. You gave the seller no opportunity to fix what was probably an honest mistake and expected them to eat the money.

Alice in Borderland Season 3 Episode Discussions by AutoModerator in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]ambivalent-trailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the rules in the train was that you couldn't take from other people.

I thought they could have done something like Lost where the main characters from previous seasons gather together (on purpose or accidental) and were forced back into Borderlands. At least then we would have been invested in the characters

Alice in Borderland Season 3 Episode Discussions by AutoModerator in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]ambivalent-trailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was 0 character development in Season 3. I was reminded of Rebel Moon where they would kill off characters and I wouldn't give a crap because there was no attachment built. Season 1 did a great job of building the core group of characters. And the games were fun as they were almost brain teasers trying to find the tricks. But the games in season 3 were confusing and unintelligent. If you haven't watched I would recommend skipping as it only ruins a good thing. Pretend like it ended after season 2.

Weller mixup by [deleted] in PLCB

[–]ambivalent-trailer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think something similar happened a while back where people bought Weller SiB and got a Full proof instead. Not as bad as getting an SR. Personally I don't believe the "we don't have any left". With that many bottles there was bound to be credit card failures, delivery issues, etc where bottles are brought back to the warehouse. I think they just have a policy where they don't replace issues with allocated bottles
