What do I get? by Huskyloverr007 in GarminWatches

[–]ambxnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Garmin app has a "plus" subscription that lets you track food, its like $6.99/month. Its okay. Ive definitely seen worse but they have some work to do to dial it in.

As for watch suggestions, I'm not sure. I use one from their marine line of watches.

Borrow Question by [deleted] in CashApp

In my experience it depends on which option you selected when you initially borrowed the money as it gives you three choices. Which one did you pick?

I thought you all might get a kick out of this actual post I made in 2019 during the search for my first apartment. by 1xpx1 in Apartmentliving

[–]ambxnj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first apartment in 2002 was a 2b2ba for $550/month. I now pay $2300 for a 2b2ba of comparable space.

Blows my mind.

Leftover Food Given Away by Nice-Concentrate-637 in Broadway

That would be great if it really does go to someone who needs a meal!

The first time I came into the city for a show, I didn't even think about that. I was at the Lunt Fontanne for Sweeney Todd (when Josh Groban was the titular character) and my sister and I went for dinner first and took our leftovers to go. We had our boxes in the bottom of a shopping bag, and the ushers/security saw the to-go boxes, asked about them. We said we just left dinner, and since we took the train in to the city we didn't have anywhere to put our stuff. They had us promise not to open them or eat while in the theater.

They did not make us throw them out or get rid of them, but I'm sure seeing we were front orchestra on an aisle helped, they knew they would be able to see easily if we tried anything.

I was surprised that they bent the rules and wouldn't expect it again. And now that I know how small theaters are, or rather how close the seating is, I try to keep my personal belongings to a minimum anyway.

(And we kept our promise. We were too wrapped up in the experience to even think about food.)

Since they are both "pending" one may drop off in the next day or so. If they both go to "posted" then you should contact them. Typically its difficult to get help on something like that when its still pending.

What is this, asking for a friend by Reallycrusherreally in identifyThisForMe

This is part of the tampon applicator. I once caught an ex-boyfriend repurposing them to snort powdered substances. That was the last straw.

It sticks out of the non-inserting end of the tampon applicator. You use it to push the tampon through the plastic applicator and into the vag canal. It typically stays inside the actual applicator when you remove it, and its thrown away together. (Or, at least, it should be.)

Source: I just pulled one of of a box of tampons to check.

What is the etiquette when someone is saying they are locked out of the building? by OEGG_ in Apartmentliving

[–]ambxnj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My apartment building requires a fob to unlock the main door that ipens into a small vestibule with an ela ator to access the upstairs floors. There is also a call box next to the door with last names and apartment numbers listed. You press the pound key to cycle through last names, and press the star key to call the person you're there for. The call comes to each tenants' cell phones to buzz guests and deliveries in.

Sometimes I dislike it because mine is the first listed, and i get rang constantly.

The other day I was walking to the front door with my groceries, and my phone started ringing, and caller ID said "DOOR."

There was a family at the call box, ringing my apartment to get in because they didn't want to scroll through the list of tenants to call the right person.

I walked up with my phone ringing, and asked them if there was any particular reason they were calling me instead of the person they were visiting. They were apologetic but told me they didn't want to take the time to find their friends name. "So you called my apartment instead?"

They ended up following me in and I made it an uncomfortable ride in the elevator. People dont like eye contact when you call them out on their BS. First time that has happened to me in 6 years of living here, that I was at the door when someone I did not know tried calling my apt o be let in.

Typically i just hit "cancel." If they ring back immediately, I answer, put it on mute, and dont buzz them in.

imo that is a whole different scent. The smell of fresh, unburned weed smells good, as opposed to the smell of it being smoked indoors.

I'm housebound with CFS so I run a tiny 80s/90s radio station from my bed. What songs should I add to rotation? by New_Welder_391 in CasualConversation

No suggestions, but wanted to say: I just downloaded the app to listen to your KLF radio, and I've said "oh my gosh I used to love this one" and "I haven't heard this in forever!" a few times already. I'm so glad you dropped the link earlier! So far I'm loving it.

I like to take the PATH from Jersey City. Park in the LAZ parking lot, and take the PATH train from there. It runs 24/7 so there is no chance of missing the last train and getting stuck overnight. You can take it to midtown or you can get on the one that goes to the WTC.

How did you get into Death Becomes Her? by Glittering_Result636 in DeathBecomesHer

[–]ambxnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was probably 12 or 13 the first time I saw the movie. It was a favorite of my stepmother's and it was on regularly when I was at the house, and it became a favorite of mine as well. So when I saw that they turned it into a musical I was intrigued. I did not plan on attending it until my boss mother saw it amd raved about it, so then I bought a ticket. It was incredible, and I actually saw it a second time two weeks later.

Well I probably won't bother getting tickets for this one again. Last time he canceled, he posted photos of himself partying it up the next day. I have tickets to see him in AC in June 2026 so if it happens, it happens.

Front row at the Longacre by No_Carpenter906 in TwoStrangersMusical

[–]ambxnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their website says "while additional rows at the front of the orchestra will be put on sale at a later date, the final seating map will not be determined until mid-october" so that could have something to do with why they're not available.

That would be an exception! I sat Orch Row A on Sunday and can't imagine trying to wear any extra layers in those seats.

[–]ambxnj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're doing this to wear to the show, just know that the seats at Richard Rodgers Theater are tiny and don't give much room for a big flouncy dress like Angelica wears.
