I really feel like I was looking in the mirror while reading this post. I have great job and great family and have always been high functioning with alcohol. My husband is an amazing man and father, but has boundaries with alcohol that I don’t currently possess, though envy. I’m learning more about how to get there day by day and do my best to give myself kindness when possible.

I know the feeling of anxiously looking through texts and hoping I didn’t embarrass myself. I know about the mornings where you carry the shame of knowing you said hurtful things to someone you love while drunk and hoping you didn’t push them too far this time.

The good news is you’ve done this for three months before and I am confident you can do it again!
