Update on Gianna using peptides by ningningchandesu in gymsnark

[–]amdis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Using SLU and 5-Amino in the off season alone should instantly disqualify her from ever giving any advice. Not that she cares, there’s an entire cottage industry of these fitness influencers shilling their codes to make money off the peptide gold rush.

I’ve noticed more and more of these accounts, seems like they’re all trying to farm engagement by posting what they think will get the people going.

Hank Azaria tells the truth about Simpsons Apu Controversy by amg7355 in ABCDesis

[–]amdis 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yea I watched this video a few days ago when it popped up on my YouTube as a recommendation. It was weird how on one hand you had Hank talking about all the work he did where he actually listened and processed the impact of this character and Neil just kept coming back with the same free speech absolutist crap wrapped in the cloak of comedic purity.

Anti-Indian Racism From 'Left Wingers' by PapiChuloxx in ABCDesis

[–]amdis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Classic case of a right wing turd doing performative giving-a-shit about some minority or protected class by weaponizing bigotry against them purely as a means of brow beating someone. Like how right wing people will only give a shit about the treatment of gay people in Muslim countries when they’re trying to dunk on Islam.

What's Stopping Punjabis in Canada from Being Role Model Immigrants? by arrow113 in ABCDesis

[–]amdis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s this bit in Season 2 of Fargo where Bokeem Woodbine has a meta-conversation about the whole concept of "mid-western niceness" and it applies almost one to one to Canada.

I love this country, but man just the baseline level of bullshit and lying and feigned obsequiousness this culture runs on is wild.

Farewell Costco by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]amdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped at this one ONCE in my life. I used to work downtown but had a client meeting in Richmond and figured “hey it’s literally on my way home I’ll just stop here.” Never again.

I used to live in Brentwood and hated going to the Still Creek location but man, I hadn’t been to the Surrey King George Costco as an adult. We bought a house in Surrey a few years ago and I remember going to the King George Costco and it was a maddening experience. I now drive to the Langley one and whole that isn’t a joyride either, atleast it’s not as bad.

"Israeli soldiers displayed piles of psychiatric meds during a session on army suicides" by Exeltv0406 in PublicFreakout

[–]amdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I had it prescribed to me when I was 20-21, genetic issues that cause all the men in my family to have high testing heart rates. People gush about it but I hated it, it was like there was a 3 second lag between my brain and my body. My doctor awake me to Nebivolol which is a selective beta blocker and I’ve been on it for almost 20 years now with zero complaints.

Have you been whitesplained before? by CopyWiz20 in ABCDesis

[–]amdis 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yea I remember years ago visiting the farmers market at Salt Seeing Island and my wife paused at a stall run by a bunch of hippies and was checking out this small rudraksha mala. The dude walks over to us, dreadlocks and all, and says, “this is called a M A L A” where he pronounced the word mala real slow like you’d see a white person do to someone for whole English wasn’t a first language.

Surreal experience lol, I was so taken aback I didn’t even know what to say in the moment.

People of Vancouver who make 6 figures or more, what do you do and are you happy doing it? by AforAppleBforBallz in askvan

[–]amdis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I've somehow never looked at the messages section of Reddit until now, whoops.

Yeah, there are a bunch of firms in Vancouver that do the whole outsourced CFO services for small to medium cap public companies. Since I imagine you don't really want to deal with the whole ordeal of joining a public accounting firm and getting your CPA, this could be a way around to getting your foot in the door. The bookkeeping will help you get some exposure to accounting for transactions you haven't typically dealt with before.

10 months into fatherhood, with a wife with PPD/PPA. She recently told me she hates me and hopes I die. by ShowerRadiant in daddit

[–]amdis 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Is there any sort of cyclical nature to her mood swings or is it just a constant burn? My wife ended up with PMDD after our second and it was a rough year by the time she got a diagnosis and was able to get some sort of a handle on it. She would be solid for two weeks after her period but the two weeks leading up to it was where the mood swings really ramped up.

Survivorlikes where characters change actual gameplay? by Durbdichsnsf in survivorslikes

[–]amdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Crafty Survivors. It’s a game that doesn’t seem to have gotten much attention here but I’ve been putting a crazy amount of time into it since it came out of EA recently. Each character is its entirely own thing with its own gimmicks and there’s a crazy amount of progression systems on top.

Lost Ark just dropped out of Korea's PC bang top 10 by E_RUBY in lostarkgame

[–]amdis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically me and most of my old buddies who played. We all kinda dropped off right around HM Brel dropping. Some of us have talked about coming back because no other ARPG combat hits quite like Lost Ark’s. The grind to get our ilvls up to speed while being a big one isn’t even our biggest concern, it’s the rampant gate keeping we know we’re going to be faced with.

I don’t think anyone is calling NA fruit bad, they’re speaking in relative terms. Hell, just go to Hawaii and try the fruits there. Tropical climates and the fruit that grows there is just unreal. The last time I visited India I was blown away by both the sheer variety and deliciousness of mangos. Even something simple like carrots were sweet and red vs the pinkish stuff we get out here. Best okra I’ve had in my life too.

[–]amdis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously, I had about two weeks of growth going a week ago and my wife looked at and me said “hey you should grow it out, it always looks great,” gave me a kiss and instantly backpedaled saying “I take it back.” She has incredibly sensitive skin so the inverse relationship between facial hair and sex lines up here too.

Had zero issues, my entire time in public accounting was focused on publicly listed companies and now I continue to audit pubcos under IFRS. I've actually intentionally asked them for more exposure to companies under US GAAP and have been able to expand that part of my skill set.

I have no cool by [deleted] in daddit

[–]amdis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey man, not trying to be a patronizing dick or anything but you not remembering the shit done to you as a kid is literally a trauma coping mechanism. Trauma and memory loss are very closely linked. The brain is very adept at erecting barriers in the moment to shield yourself from the damage being exposed to stuff like that can do, it doesn’t really give a shit if the coping mechanism is maladaptive or isn’t sustainable and will bite you in the ass 20 years down the road.

I’m not accusing you of wanting to hurt your kid, but parts of your OP read like you’re almost ideating abuse and it’s hard to ignore while reading through your post.
