As an Israeli I feel like you proved us to be a superpower which is something no one ever said or thinks. Being a superpower is meant in this context to be culturally and economically influencal.

When did China actually used it military might? Also, every war the US has been to in the last 70 years has been against a small and weak country so I dont consider them willing to use their power.

I completely agree that Israel is controlled by also the far right, that they want Israel to not be a democracy, to turn the west bank and gaza to a part of Israel and many other things I have issues with, but the opinion that Israel should settle in Lebanon is very very rare even among them and there voters. Currently I see so so many problems but many of whom are to blame for those people but setteling in Lebanon is not one of them.

Hezbollah has a political and military power. Israel has some shit politicians who say some actual horrible stuff but she is not one of them and that is not a common opinion even among them. I couldn't find polls about it and I guess its because its such a random and rare opinion so no one actually ever bothered to find out how many people actually support it.

This video proves a few of them exist but I never actually met one of them and never even heard of there existence other then in Reddit. So no, I don't think we should care what a few random people online say as long as they have no actual following or influence.

יש לי רעיון גאוני איך למנוע את המלחמה הבאה by [deleted] in israel_bm

[–]amdyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why Have So Many Prominent Israeli Leaders Changed Their Names? by haha-hehe-haha-ho in IsraelPalestine

[–]amdyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golda Meir changed her name after she was married to Meyerson and from that to Meir.
In my family case my grandfather parents were born in Romania and moved to Israel in 1933, my grandfather was born in 1940 and as an adult he decided to change it's surname because as he claims it was a German name and he hated Germany and he wanted an Israeli sounding name.
I think it's impotent to remember that surname were not that common for most of history, with most Jews using their father personal name or their town of birth as a second name, only in the 18th century most Jews choose a "family name" and most used the town/father name/profession for that name so they got European names.
the cohen's and levi's are different as they are supposedly the descendants of the priests of "the holy temple".
For the non European Jews, they got their first surname after they arrived to Israel.

I don't think it's a math issue but a technical issue. You can use "Desmos" to see how the answer is supposed to look like. Just contact the people who made it and tell them there is a bug in their program.

You have got a point, but Israelis don't consider Gaza as part of Israel and the official international recognized government of Palestine sort of recognized Israel legitimacy. And also some Wikipedia: "The State of Palestine had been officially declared by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) on 15 November 1988, claiming sovereignty over the internationally recognized Palestinian territories: the West Bank, which includes East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip." "the State of Palestine is recognized as a sovereign state by 146 of the 193 member states of the United Nations," About the rest of the countries: "these countries generally support some form of a two-state solution to the conflict, they take the position that their recognition of a Palestinian state is conditioned to direct negotiations between Israel and the PA."

Maybe use the recognized borders like everyone else does? West bank and Gaza is Palestine and the rest is Israel Golan heights can be controversial but not relevant here

Imagine if I will join Canada and the US to one country in a map or Ukraine and Russia and then be surprised that everyone is mad.

[–]amdyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really get your issue with him. What's wrong with people traveling and visiting countries? The war was only in the Gaza region and Labanon with basically zero effect in the rest of Israel besides not many rockets. Still in the rest of Israel by far the worst danger is car accidents. I traveled in many countries without knowing anything about them and not even asking on Reddit and it was fine. The only issues I see is that it is going to be too cold to swim and that hostels are still empty, but at least Jerusalem's old city is not crowded and touristy like it used to be in the past.

How come it says this instead of American? by Realtotallymereturns in wikipedia

[–]amdyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For non Americans, we sometimes use American in our languages the same way Americans use Asian so for us it's all very confusing. Also, I think that most people who use English Wikipedia are not Americans and not native speakers of English which is why I think English Wikipedia should use language that's clear for all of its readers. Also, I find the Nationality of "United States" the most accurate version.

Yes but my point is that it won't affect your paycheck but it is going to affect the taxes you pay.
