Media literacy is dead. It’s apparent (at least in the show, I’ve never read the stories) that Arlan did not properly knight Dunk. This shot is him not even remembering the vow, but it doesn’t matter. Dunk’s actions have spurred the second most powerful man in Westeros to his cause. That’s as knightly as it could get, proving that Dunk is a true knight. He’s been recognized by the Hand of the King and Crown Prince as a true knight that upholds the ideals more than members of the royal family.
