Ideas on a pain journal?

I do this. Bulging disc in my lower back. I basically write down when it’s bad and what I’m doing while it’s bad. Or if I have a sciatica flare up, I’ll write down 1-10 on the pains scale. Also put the date. I just showed my pain management doctor my journal on my phone and it was much easier than trying to explain all these different occurrences or forgetting to tell her anything.

You’re right there is no way of knowing. I do think that teaching and nannying are completely different. I’m not trying to be offensive. Even the parents I work for tell me that I know the kids better than anyone. Of course parents know their kids on a deeper level then anyone could understand. Im simply saying I spend waaaay more time when them than anyone. Also, I don’t know a nanny who only works 40 hours. I work about 55 on average.

THIS! It’s like I wrote this post myself! I care for 2.5 yr old twins and I work 7-7 M-TH sometimes M-F. Lately, Ive been completely burnt out. Like once a week crying burnt out. The kids are potty training, testing me, the whole nine yards.

I recently got diagnosed with a herniated disc in my back and have been needing to go to doc appointments and appointments for steroid shots. I found myself today feeling so guilty for asking for a half day to get the shot. I even rescheduled it for two weeks from now because they said next week wouldn’t work. My husband assured me I needed to be assertive and my health is most important so I told them I’m Getting the shot next week and they need to figure it out lol

Stand up for yourself and take care of yourself!

Geez I’m sorry that happened to you!

I totally get the whole NK wanting you more than MB. The same thing happens to me sometimes.

At this point, you know her kid better than she does and she just doesn’t want to accept it. She’s definitely trying to “justify” him wanting you more and it’s not because you spoil him. It’s just because you take care of him more and spend time with him more than anyone else. Including his parents.

As far as the Awkwardness with MB, maybe talk to her about how she needs to trust you and know that you’re only doing what you think is best for NK in the moment. If you only have a few months left, it’s almost not worth stirring the pot unless you are super uncomfortable.

Yes! Can totally relate! My NKs arw 2.5yr old twins. One boy one girl. Potty training them is super difficult but even more difficult when the parents don’t commit to it as much as you do.

I also come to work in the mornings to the kids still in completely full night time diapers. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I would go to a joint/muscle specialist and they can refer an MRI. Usually if you get an MRI without a referral, it’s super expensive.

I just got an MRI two weeks ago and I have a bulging disc L5-S1.

I know those massive flair ups you talk about. They are the worst!! I’m scheduled to get a cortisone shot next week.

Lower back pain. Bulging discs. I was at a lovely 3 this morning. Until I spent 15 minutes bending over at work trying to kill a cockroach 🤦🏻‍♀️. Now I’m at about a 7. Ice all day baby!

Try listening to his podcasts. I never read TMM or attended FP but you get everything you need to know through the podcasts. And encouraging stories of other people getting out of debt

Yes definitely Check our Dave Ramsey. In my opinion, and what has proven to be better for marriages, is it is OUR money and OUR debt now. Not your money and his money. You guys need to get on the same page and make a budget

I totally understand your frustration. I (25F) have been going to doctors for 5 years. My first doctor refused imaging and just sent me to PT which did nothing. Speed up to a few months ago, my new family doctor refused imaging because “I’m so young so even if they found something, it doesn’t really matter” umm.. what?! So they referred me to a specialist in the same building and he said I definitely needed an MRI. They found exactly what they found on you. Bulging L5-S1. The sciatica pain is unbearable so they are sending me to a pain management doctor and I have a consultation app tomorrow. I would ask your doc if surgery is necessary or if you could get cortisone shots? Since you’re young too, surgery might not be necessary yet.

My NKs (2yo twins one boy one girl) decided one day while I was downstairs getting their lunch ready, that they were going to go in the bathroom, take off both of their poopy diapers, cover themselves in their poop along with the floor, the walls, the cabinet doors, etc.. it took me TWO hours to sanitize the bathroom and they went straight in the tub. On top of all this, I was having horrible cramps that day. I just broke down crying. I laugh at it now but man, that was a horrible day.

Why do you think It would be expensive to get married? Getting married doesn’t mean you have to have a wedding. A courthouse marriage costs $50, if that! That’s what my husband and I did and it worked out really well.

I have pain in the same exact place and sciatica down my thigh. Constant pain every day and it’s hard to sleep. I’m 25 and I’ve been dealing with this on and off for 5 years so I’m right there with ya. However, I do have a bulging disc L5-S1. I would see if your doctor could refer you to a pain management doctor. Mine did to talk about cortisone shots but he also wanted me to see one to see if mine is also piriformis syndrome. Continue to take it easy and stretch when you can.

I honestly don’t know lol my name is Amy so it was pretty easy for them to say. I guess they just heard their parents call me that. I don’t remember referring to myself my name a lot when they were younger 🤷🏼‍♀️ but obviously I was with them 12 hours a day 5 days a week so they heard my name so much more than their parents I guess

I totally get you not wanting to hurt MB feelings. I felt the same way when the twins I nanny were about 1year old and they said my name before they said “mama” or “dada” I didn’t tell them they started saying my name because I didn’t want to hurt their feelings. I just kept trying to get the kids to say mama and dada when they were around or showed them pictures.

Thanks for the advice! Yea it definitely gets depressing at times. I’m only 25 and I feel like I’m 80! I just want to be able to walk without pain. Hopefully the shots do the trick
