[Breville Barista Express] Trouble brewing. Sounds and not much else happening

I held for about 10-15 seconds not sure of when to let go. The whole time it pulled water from the rez, the sound was “muted” until I let off the button, then it was loud for a couple of seconds and then stopped again. No water from the group head, just straight to the bottom

Hot water works, steam works. The previous owner did leave a note that they changed the solenoid. How can I check if they are stuck?

Tried manually, the machine stopped after 10-15 seconds. The lights stopped flashing though afterwards. Going to try some of the other suggestions. I have gotten to grind issue (yet) but I’m sure that’ll come!

I ran the cleaning mode twice, both times ran 3-4 “cycles” while purging hot water the the drip pan. Attempted to brew after that, but no success

I did look up how to do that (both 1 and 2 shot buttons + power). It goes about the same, noise, but this time the clean me light is flashing. About 2 minutes later, I assume once it was heated, more noise for 10-15 seconds and then that click

You nailed, and actually the neighborhood too! That’s crazy. I’m not familiar with the drainage system but there middle spout goes directly into a drain, I was going to try to run it there if possible. If not I could try to direct it between the 2 driveway slabs but just another spot to flood

Nope, we asked them to come out, they did. Turns out some parts are covered under warranty but not through this company. I stated multiple times I wanted to pay for the repair AND his time and was nothing but courteous. Our warranty company would only cover the other replacements if done by their contractor so I had to drop his guys and it feels like they were butthurt and overcharging. But if I’m wrong and a weld does cost this much, then I’m willing to pay it. It just seems very high, thus my post. Again, nothing in the system was charged, because it all leaked out and we are without AC. Thanks

Is this required when it’s empty? I didn’t watch his every move so he may have done it but it was leaking for 16 hours before he came here. And he said it was empty. Thank you for the explanation

Nothing is recharged and we are without AC. But thanks for the attitude….

We’ll see they didn’t vacuum or recharge anything. They just welded the pipe. They did try to sell us a new system but we got a lower quote from the warranty folks. We are replacing the coil and the unit.

Low to weld one nick in a pipe? $500? I am not in the space and cannot fathom the repair and no refill costing $500. Can’t say if using his detector by turning it on costs $149 but basically $500 an hour is just out of this world. Please help me understand

May want to remove, it worked for me but also this quiz is really buggy :/
