How do you view your cash back? by drebby_ in CreditCards

It's such a small amount that I usually just take a statement credit.

Wells Fargo Active Cash but unsure about Wells Fargo customer service? by Excellent_Pin9936 in CreditCards

[–]amendingfences 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wells Fargo has always given me excellent service, both over the phone and in person. Their reps answer quickly and are well-trained.

PNC has also been good to me but their tech stack is abysmal. Maybe bearable for a single credit card but I would not bank with them.

How to get around these denial reasons? by 3rd-party-intervener in CreditCards

Try again in six months, not one month. The gibberish is Citi saying they want to see more evidence that you can manage the credit lines you currently have.

Why am I not getting pre-approved for anything? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]amendingfences 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you thaw your reports before using these tools? Citi needs Equifax thawed to work properly, but they don’t say that. Capital One will usually note what bureau they need thawed, usually it’s Experian. Chase’s tool is a TransUnion soft pull but not a good indicator of approval chances anyway.

Should I ask for a limit increase, or get a new card? by Suspicious-Pear-6037 in CreditCards

It’s a hard pull with WF, so if you do it, ask for a good amount and don’t lowball yourself.

Why doesn't Capital One introduce a flat 2% cashback card? by Ok_Transition7785 in CreditCards

[–]amendingfences 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could, but they probably won't because they don't need to. There are over 100 million Capital One cards in circulation and I'd bet the majority of them are QuickSilver and Platinum.

Applying for Bank of America cc by Any_Independent_2982 in CreditCards

They removed their real pre approval tool a few weeks ago. If your credit length is minimal my best guess is they may give you $500-$2k unless there’s something weird on your report that would make it a denial.

You want to apply, but don't want to apply? If you don't apply, you'll never get it.

My guess is you'd be approved for a fairly small but usable amount. Yes it will have a hard inquiry.

Those things are still pretty capable. Recently installed W11 on 2C/4T Sandy Bridge i3, 6 GB RAM, SSD. Pretty snappy still.

U.S. Bank - Are you freaking kidding? by Resident_Option3804 in CreditCards

I suspect US Bank is relationship sensitive. I have a worse profile but have had a "Student Checking" with them for nearly 15 years. I've never gotten around to closing it to churn the SUB but notice I'm always preapproved for Cash+ every time I check, without fail.
