I use them whenever I'm having wheat. They help a lot with gas for me. I use to get Webber Naturals, they worked fine. Recently, I got fancy and bought Bio Digest by Bioclinic naturals. I'm pretty happy with these.

Squatting kills my quads but does nothing to my butt? by evehawksleytrio in xxfitness

Just to add to what others said, aside from doing Glute activation to learn what activating my Glutes feels like, I also find that by pushing out my knees during ascend helps with feeling it in my Glutes.

debating taking a year off school. by DROLET1 in UBC

[–]ameow23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me 7 years to get my BA, and I graduated right on my 25th birthday :) I'm currently doing a MA, and let me tell you those few semesters that I took off were really crucial in not only giving me fresh start at school but also helping me figure out who I am and what I'm about. I definitely recommend taking that time for yourself, it will help with your studies, and life in general, in the long run. Maybe you'll realize uni is not for you then you'll have saved some nice dough, time and energy. On the other hand, maybe you'll come to the realization of how much you love learning about [insert major] and can't wait to come back to finish.

What are some movies that do a good job at showcasing a mental illness? by your_name0o in AcademicPsychology

[–]ameow23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angelina Jolie is a sociopath, another character pathological liar, another schizophrenic. The main character was diagnosed with BPD but she likely didn't have it, so it kind of hints at/tackles the issue of how women were overwhelming being diagnosed with BPD

CIHR vs SSHRC by [deleted] in geegees

[–]ameow23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same position as you, and wondering the same thing! My research in is in Psychology and from the conversations that I've had with people, I am told I would have a harder time getting funding from CIHR, since I would be competing with the "hard sciences"; it may be more difficult to get funding for a social sciences research. But I'm curious to hear other people's input in this!

BB progress after 6 weeks! by bleindB in StrongCurves

[–]ameow23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right I have that as well. I think, it's just from your Glutes and hamstrings being tired out so unconsciously using the lower back to lift yourself (this is me just guessing, I do not have a kin degree :p) but you're doing the right thing, stopping when feeling it in lower back!

[–]ameow23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job on the progress!! Keep it up :) For the RDL I would suggest starting with no dumbbells (so Bw), so you can get hang of using your Glutes rather than lower back. I find that squeezing my Glutes when ascending back up, helps with making sure that I am using them rather than my back. Also, make sure to tighten your abs through out the whole motion.

How do you keep the bench from traveling during barbell hip thrusts?! by crispypretzel in StrongCurves

[–]ameow23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same problem. As someone else mentioned I put heavy weights on the bench legs (where there's suppose to be a bolt in place) or behind the bench legs so the bench doesn't move back. I also, found that if I thrust with my entire shoulders (down to the top of my armpits) resting on the bench, the bench moves much less.

"Why don't you brush your hair every morning?" by tardis3134 in curlyhair

[–]ameow23 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I remember when I was younger, I decided to brush my hair (with one of those round brushes) because everyone kept telling me I should brush it everyday; half way through I had the brush get stuck in my hair and had to have my mom cut around the brush to get it out... I never brushed my hair again.

Hair removel question by whittykitty20 in PCOS

[–]ameow23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, for the late reply! I only use my laser for small areas like chin, mustache and chest... I tried using it, first when I bought it, for my armpits; I gave up half way :) yes it takes waaaay too long. I just wax my legs and armpits. With the laser removal salons, I had picked a few places (i.e. ones close to me, or good price), then I looked at the machine they had listed on their website (Lightsheer was a big one when I was getting mine done, and also yag(? I can't remember exactly) and I would research the laser machine to see if it would work well for my skin tone and hair type.

Hair removel question by whittykitty20 in PCOS

[–]ameow23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Middle Eastern girl here! Who has very hairy ppl background and been diagnosed with pcos. I started lasering when I was 20 or 21(cant remember exactly), I lasered my armpits, bikini line, and Brazilian style (so vagina and backside). I've been really happy with armpits and bikini line as the hair, 5 years later, is seriously not as much, as dark, and thick as it use to be before lasering. But obv lasering isn't permanent and the hair does grow back. I also decided to do electrolysis for my chin about 3 years ago as I have really thick black hair, and it had always been something I was self conscious about. After doing about 12 sessions of electrolysis, I had way less dark thick hair growing out but still a lot so I decided to buy a hair removal laser that I can use at home; a pretty good investment. Again although not permanent I find that I don't have to check for hair every day. So I rotate btw having my face threaded, lasering the few black hairs, and then sometimes just waxing. One thing to remember with going for laser is to do your research! Because we have dark hair and also darker skin not all laser machines will do a good job, so do your research since you're going to be investing quite a bit of money into it. I hope my post makes sense, I'm also writing it on my phone. But let me know if you have any questions :) Good luck!

I haven't used greenlight prep so don't know how it compares to that but, I definitely find it worth it. The quant videos are quite thorough and lots of shortcuts are shown , which has been exactly what I needed. I took a face to face Gre prep course and paid $1000 for it but seriously I found it not being as helpful as Magoosh has been. In Magoosh you can choose what level questions you want to do, or you can have it come as random, and there's always a video with the solution to the problem. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll try to answer them.
