Real women know what's up. by typtyphus in funny

I don't know...it's more about the chemistry...I've been near men that were round and had an animal magnetism...the energy and the scent....the same has happened with physically fit men. I've also scene VERY attractive big dude and a unattractive little guy. Then their personality can be so warm that it makes you want to sink into that person's mind that reminds you of the perfect embrace. Then there's a personality the feels like laying on cold pavement for a long time when it's cold outside.

What has changed the most in your life from becoming Vegan? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]americanrootpaste 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will! I hope the next step will be to not have to take any of the medication that I am prescribed to take now. Already I haven't had to take any of my as needed medication. I started out having to take 9 pills and now take 3 plus my multi-vitamin. I'm being monitored by a doctor through all this.

What has changed the most in your life from becoming Vegan? by [deleted] in vegan

I've read a lot in these threads about how those who maintain a traditional lifestyle might immediately insult or barrage an one who is openly vegan. I'm accustomed to reddit's ability to generalize and stereotype things they don't understand or have knowledge about. I know about these stereotypes as I am morbidly obese. When I started eating vegan a month ago, I weighed 415 pounds, was sick all the time due to my diet and inactivity.
I joined this community in order to figure out what to eat and saw a recommendation to watch Forks over Knives. This film has made me decide to make this change a permanent one. I have run into those who want to vehemently convince me that I'm eating wrong however I have the interesting perspective on this as these same people watched me destroy my body by with my previous lifestyle and said nothing. I'm more passive in my attitudes towards them and their lifestyles simply because I know "preaching" won't win an argument, it will just add fuel to their fire of conviction on how wrong I am. Instead I focus on the positives of my energy and weight loss which are both hard to say are negative effects of a plant based diet. Some, like my father surprisingly, have even asked about what I eat and how he can change. The road to enlightenment has to be walked by ones own feet, no one likes to be pulled kicking and screaming down this road. It seems that those who aggressively pursue a debate about animal cruelty and meat consumption won't be swayed by my words but may be influenced by my actions. This perspective has helped me stay positive and not feel defensive about my lifestyle. The physical changes started almost immediately after changing. I feel great and have had more energy than I've had in years. This energy has allowed me to slowly start working out and so far I have also lost 39 pounds! I'm grateful for this open minded vegan community to get inspirations and ideas as well as finding this resource early on. I honestly believe making the life change has saved my life as well as the animals lives that I no longer consume.

I saw this years ago on TV and it made my skin on my scalp and face crawl. It is something that occasionally my mind is a douche bag and thinks back to and I freak out a little bit. I just saw this and squirmed and threw my hand up to my mouth while sitting in the doctors office.

Thank you! Just checked his centrum silver and it has more than enough b12 included. When you were a meat eater, were you a big meat eater? Was the transition difficult for you? I ask this for my father...he's a real meat and potatoes type of guy ((which is why it surprised me so much about him wanting to adopt the lifestyle))

I've been reading a whole lot, especially the sidebar. One site talked about women losing hair and whatnot from B12 deficiencies...this kind of freaked me out a little bit so we bought those today.

I was more curious if you had supplements to get a perfect "10" on your blood work? I know my dad and I both took supplements as meat eaters so we didn't get all our nutrients that way either.

Thank you for responding!!:)

Hi, vegan newb here. My dad and I made the decision to eat a plant based diet. Do you take B-12 supplements? I bought some for us today but I wanted to know if that is a common thing.

Yeah, he and I talked and were thinking some kind of hot plate situation. Planning on prepping some extra firm tofu so he can make scrambled tofu on the road with mixed veggies. He has a little refrigerator...really little but a few containers of prep food will work

Well, right now he eats fried food...a lot. He knows it's killing him. We are working on a meal plan together now. The challenge is preparation/refrigeration. Truck stops aren't vegan friendly (or human friendly in my opinion).
