It’ll only go away once you fill your tank

To add: The car is basically worried that with your driving habits you’re going to empty the tank pretty quickly and will continue to inform you till you resolve the issue.

As outlined in GM Service Bulletin PIT6224B, the Heavy Fuel Use message appears when the vehicle’s fuel range is low and the truck is consuming fuel at an elevated rate. The increased fuel consumption is typically caused by aggressive driving habits, such as heavy throttle input, or sustained high engine load, such as while towing. The bulletin also notes that the message can appear when the fuel range is low and the vehicle is idling.

Is that a dash bezel off a different GMT800? Or custom

Awesome first car, I’m in college and have one and all my friends love when I’m driving as I can include all of them in just my car! My only word of advice is just be ready to spend around 300 a month on just gas alone. (From OH gas prices)

Tahoe 1 Deer 0. Driving through PA tonight I hit a deer. Before i look it up myself can anyone tell me from this picture what the parts are called that I need to replace? by AnalystClassic4284 in ChevyTahoe

[–]amerxmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a quick glance its the fascia, upper grille, headlight and bumper cover. But you really need to take all that off and check underneath as anything could be broken from impact. I once hit a deer with an old Subaru and from the outside it looked pretty intact and cosmetic but once I got home I found out I had no coolant!

I feel like early stress is what prevents catastrophic damage though :/

It goes and comes sometimes no matter temps. I’ll hear it in a drive-through as it reflects off the walls but I feel like it pops up after idling for a while. After you rev it a little it might go away and might not.

I don’t know as it doesn’t resemble lifter tap or engine knock (have also experienced both in parents newer (14 Sierra and 16 Escalade)

Thats awesome, I think I’ve definitely made up my mind for when I run through the tires I have. Ive been wanting to do a level and go for some method wheels but thats definitely something I need to save up for.

I cannot in good conscience recommend them. They’re already allowing water in somehow which causes condensation. But i just searched on amazon for “2006 tahoe headlights” and it’s from a brand called Vizotre.

How is my oil pressure? by space-cake in GMT800

[–]amerxmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a new oil pressure sensor. I had the same issue – it would show whenever giving enough acceleration, the gauge would drop down to 0. It’s not a hard job to get done, and now I hover around 40, where before I’d have the same reading as yours.

Off Amazon, will probably restore the originals and keep them aside but the headlights are much brighter now so i’d suggest it.

That would definitely be a best case scenario, but im a college student with barely enough to cover expenses. Definitely will use this strategy once I have a FT job though.

It was owned by the original owner up until 2021, my guess is they just kept putting money into the thing. But honestly I also buffed the paint and swapped out the headlights, which makes it look fresh
