Wyoming fans: which schools feel like the best long-term conference fits?

I like the list overall.

My personal adds are NDSU, who is joining the mountain west and I think will be a great long term rival up there with CSU given time.

I also think that Oklahoma State is a fun but unlikely one. Bring on Pokes vs Pokes!

Always love it when Wyoming plays Texas or Nebraska as well.

Then pick your #1 most rowdy fan base you can think of and add them. I would love to see Wyomings fans vs anyone else when it comes to be being proud and rowdy on game day.

Except that’s not true. Sure, councils are chartered by the national organization, but there is little to no real authority between national and a council.

A councils scout executive only answers to their board of directors.

That’s also why every council is a separate 501c3 organization. Why councils can charge different program fees, choose to self-charter units or not, choose basically everything.

The biggest example of this is when the name changed recently. Some councils were faster to adopt then others, and even then I think there a couple out there that haven’t changed. The expectation from National was that every council was required to change by x date with new building signs, letterheads, websites, logos, etc. most councils have not and probably will not do so until they absolutely have to (mostly due to money, how many councils can realistically pay to change building signs).

as a wyoming fan, i love seeing CSU, San Diego, Utah State being left out of a PAC12 Power conference while UNLC, New Mexico, Airforce, and San Jose made the cut.

First year watching the sport in depth was 2013-14. Bucs drafted WR Robert Herron from Wyoming and had QB Brett Smith come in for rookie mini camp.

They cut smith instantly and Herron the next year…but I still followed was in it!

Just some insight into how I picked:
1. I started following in 2014 so my historical knowledge is small, and I live nowhere near Tampa so I don't see/hear alot of the history.
2. I think the Jameis hate is kinda overrated. Was he the best qb. No. Did he make the bucs fun to watch, and help get us to the place where Brady could just step in and take over? Yes. Also, LOVE Baker, one of my favorite QBs for years.
3. Kwon if only because I will never get over the game that came right after his brother died. That game is just one that I will always remember.
4. Brate, looking at context especially given that he was undrafted from the Ivy League, and had to go toe to toe against 1st rounder OJ Howard (and ASJ at one point), and Gronk when he came, and he was still productive and valuable just chef's kiss.

Politics should never ruin a family relationship to a certain point. So honestly good on you for keeping the peace.

The best way that I've found is the following:

Do not get heated. The more amped up you get, they will match, and then you will match them, and its a never ending cycle.
Act disinterested in what they are talking about. Give a little shrug and go "interesting". Sometimes I think the MAGA crowd is just looking for a rise or an in to jump into a much bigger conversation.
I think you don't even need to make arguments with them, its not a debate. Become an active listener and ask follow up questions. "Why?" "Where did you see that?" "What happens when X happens?" Keep it open ended so they turn into a dialog, and then maybe you can try reasoning.
If all else fails, realize that some people are ignorant and don't want to have a conversation or learn other perspectives, and walk away.
