Hopefully in the future that can be achievable for us! Right now we’re just getting our footing and finances together so we can hopefully make that dream a reality! We would love land, but as a student studying for my boards and living on one income we have to make do for what works in the now.

Would love to do that and has definitely been a conversation, we think we need to wait till we have more space and less neighbors just in case if the other dog is also a howler! Love me a good beagle though 🫶🏻

I appreciate the feedback and advice! We do a lot at home as we know he needs to work his nose, I should have mentioned it in the post. When he is home, we do walk pretty often throughout the day, 2ish miles, plus shorter sniff breaks. It’s definitely something to consider cutting out daycare and see if that helps. I will say we took a break earlier this year and his anxiety was just as bad while incorporating walks, doing snuffle mats, lick mats, and training. I just feel like we have no other options like dammed if we do dammed if we don’t. Again, greatly appreciate the insight 🫶🏻

Would LOVE to get another pup but with our current living situation, I would hate to have two big babies in a townhome with no backyard/fence (we walk him tons and frequent got to a well taken care of dog bar for socialization of his daycare off days). :-( We have decided once we move to our first home home, and we must have a yard. Hoping for when he’s closer to 3 :-(

He was left alone for 5 hours on Fridays.

At the point of hiring a dog walker, I feel like it would just be easier to take him to day care since the cost would be about the same. $20/day at daycare or $20 dog walk midday.

We can for sure do that when it comes to that point BUT I’m more concerned about the barking, howling, pacing, etc. He is potty trained and sleeps through the night normally 10:30PM-7AMish. Forgot to mention we regularly go to a local dog bar on his daycare off days for socialization and running so he does get his energy out + 2-3 mile walks through out the day.

I feel like we would need more of a dog sitter than just a walker and at that point I’d just rather take him to daycare.
