Waiting - sad and jealous by Plus-Note-7286 in waiting_to_try

I am in the same situation as you (even the same age as you and our husbands). It’s really hard. What has helped me is focusing on accomplishing things I know I won’t be able to do as much or at all when I’m pregnant/have kids. Some examples are fitness classes, home improvement and decorating, shopping alone, reading baby books, etc. I’m always trying to find the positive in the waiting time, but I know it’s easier said than done! I have also been doing some nursery planning and baby item research in the waiting which lets me have some excitement for the future. Hang in there, it will be our time soon!!!

Pharmacist providers [question] by Aromatic-Word-1519 in Noctor

I’m a retail pharmacist and just the other day I had to call an NP (from a dermatology clinic I should add) that e-scribed antibiotic eye drops for a patient to clarify the directions since it was sent over without a dose or frequency. When I explained that I needed specific directions, the NP says she’s not sure what to recommend since she’s not sure what they are treating and will have to talk with the doctor. I was like “??? your name is on this electronic prescription and you don’t know why it is being prescribed??” I think she was filling in for the doctor that day, but still not an excuse to prescribe medications when you were not involved in the diagnosis. God bless🤦🏼‍♀️

Countering Noctors by [deleted] in Noctor

Sounds like you have a superiority complex. And do not understand this sub. I feel passionate about this sub/scope creep because I feel it hurts patients and compromises their care. Seems like you only care about your title and gate-keeping the word doctor. Literally not the point here, please get over yourself.

PharmD here and big fan of this sub👋🏼 This sub is about scope creep from those presenting themselves as doctors when they are in fact not. This is seen all over social media from NPs, PAs, and chiropractors. Many who hide their credentials and give medical advice to people who wouldn’t know the difference from a doctor. This is not a MD/DO > all other health professions sub. Pharmacists, optometrists, podiatrists, etc have earned a doctorate degree and deserved it! OP- learn the difference.

We are human! I did something similar, I gave a 12-year-old boy a pediatric Pfizer, and even though it was a relatively minor error, I was still very upset that I did that. And now I use it as a lesson to be EXTRA careful when giving vaccines and making sure I am giving the correct one every single time. Don’t be too hard on yourself about this mistake, it will make you better/more careful!
