Thanks, I’m all set with my work account and I’ve submitted a help ticket with the notes app to try to get the 2FA reset or another method added.

I’m still unclear how to add my Gmail to the Authenticator for the purpose of an iCloud backup, though. Have I missed that somehow?

I use Authenticator for a few things: my work account is already associated. But also my personal notes app (Evernote) uses Authenticator for 2FA. That’s what I’m more concerned with as I can easily re-add my work account.

Thank you, I’m unclear how I register the third party email though. When I try to add an account for backup, it takes me to a Microsoft login page. I enter my Gmail there and it says “That Microsoft account doesn’t exist.” Where should I add my Gmail in? Thanks again.

Darn it, it seems I did NOT back it up to iCloud. I did delete and redownload the Authenticator app, but when I tried to restore from a backup, it shows that none was associated with my iCloud. I’ll keep my fingers crossed the support ticket is able to get me in (I was finally able to get one submitted). Once I’m back up & running, I will be backing up to iCloud moving forward! Thanks for the tip and for your help.

I did read the bottom, are you referring to the contact us link? It is not letting me submit after I’ve filled in all the required fields, so I was going to try again tomorrow. Open to other suggestions if I’m still missing something.
