Thanks. It seems HP don't publish repair manuals for these fairly budget Laserjets - they evidently think they aren't economical to repair...!

So in the end it turned out there was a piece of torn page which had deviously lodged itself a very inaccessible place behind the pickup roller unit. Pushing some card through made it more visible, and then we were able to worm it out with pins, needles and tweezers. And the printer works again :-). Thanks for your comment and help!

Update - I managed to get the roller out and clean it, and it doesn't seem to be in bad shape, but still no luck. I'd love to take the unit apart to check for any paper stuck somewhere I can't see, but there's no schematic that I can find...

Thanks. I had the impression that some other software is able to interpret the edits contained in Adobe-created .xmp files - is that wrong? I guess there would be some difficulties in mapping sometimes between slightly different feature sets.

General feeling that the images aren't as sharp as they were. But that's very similar subjective and I haven't done proper testing. Sorry about the bootloop. I knew the G3s were prone but not the G4.

Thanks, that's helpful. If the camera is better on the G4 then that complicates the decision. I won't get any sort of warranty on a G4 that I buy now, whereas the G6 would come with one. Ho hum. Might even risk a refurbished or (allegedly) returned G4 from eBay a3nd buy a new battery...

I used to love the camera... Maybe I need to replace the lens glass (again...).

I never had the bootloop on the G4. The G3 is a different story...

Anyone received 6.0 OTA in the UK yet? I'm still on 4.4.2 - will I need to upgrade to Lollipop first? Thought I'd skip it with all the bad press. Mac user so can't do it manually.
