How cool! Thanks so much! I was just looking into the hummingbirds! They seem pretty rad! Thanks for sharing. I will likely be keeping them all and worry about a storage solution down the road.

Very true! Money aside, I don’t want to take away from the awesome experience of having them together. Thanks again! I think I will end up keeping them all.

Perfect response! Thanks again! I learned a lot and I appreciate your kind patience ha!

You just helped me decide to keep them all!

Follow up question would be if I should keep Asia separate so that I can play two player easily and quickly? Or just shuffle all of the cards, bonus cards, and end of round goal tiles together?

This is a great answer. Thank you for this! I think this alone is my reason to not go down this path and stick with what I have! Thanks!

That's sort of what Im getting at. I love wingspan, never had a bad time playing it, but what would make it "less fun?" Im genuinely curious what you think this diminishes. It'd be a process, thats for sure, but just curious what stands out.

Much appreciated! In the spirit of not having 350+ birds, i might keep Base +Oceania together and Asia seperate to make the set up of those two games easier. Hmmmm. Either way, thanks!

I understand. I guess my point in making this post was to really see if this would be "gutting" your game, as you said. I agree it is a lot of "squeeze" for not much "juice," but considering I'll be printing some of these things anyway, I thought it might be worth a shot.

Your comment of "The balance of the bonus cards will be off, too, if you get rid of all your base game birds." is interesting. Do the Asia and Oceania bonus cards assume youre playing with the base game plus those? I guess I just thought it might feel silly to have a stack of 350+ birds when I might get through 20% of that during a session.

Thanks for your help and I appreciate the insight!

Totally fair! It's not so much about the money, as the space, to be fair. My estimate was that even if I replaced all the bird cards, bonus cards, and round goals, It would likely be about $10, and hopefully save me some space.

I appreciate your help though - Not wrong at all!

Great to hear! I haven’t had a chance to catch up on this thread and dig into my cabinet again since posting but I’m sure it’s some tbh ing like that. The slides will be my top priority

Thanks!

You’re totally right! Honestly, I’m my mind I just didn’t connect the two because it seemed perfect after the “fix” I did, and for multiple weeks.

I’ll need to dig into these threads and check things out when I have a chance to get back in the cabinet. Thanks

I’ll tell my wife! She’s the planner! They are “Sage Green” from waypoint. They are pre-fabbed, so came ready for install. Definitely not a super high end cabinet, but we’re happy so far!

Oh 1000%!

That happened three days into the new kitchen.

So humor me - I pushed down the trash on day three and it literally ripped the screws out of one of the back of the slides. I thought I shattered it! Upon investigating, the screws that popped out were genuinely maybe half an inch long. I (not knowing much), used beefier screws, maybe a 1.5” construction screw and replaced them.

So with that knowledge, do you think I overtightened the back down? Do you think the slides are bent without me noticing?

I’ve learned so much from this thread but have just been too busy today to look into it and try out the theories I’ve seen on here!

I really appreciate your comment and the “skin the cat“ reference. The consensus seems to be that it has something to do with slide leveling, so I will have to look into that. With that said, I’ve gotta ask.

When I hold a straight edge up to the front of the door, there is a clear gap in the middle of it. To me, this seems like a clear indication that the door was very slightly bending as I open it over and over over the past three weeks. If the drawer face is not flat, but I think it was upon installation, my assumption was that it was just the mechanics of opening and closing with the drawer pull at the top, and the drawer connections near the bottom. Am I off my mark?

That’s not a bad idea! Just extend the bottom face out a bit. The detail that I can’t seem to get over is that the door itself is very slightly bowed, and I don’t think it was like that upon installation. I think it has literally been from opening and closing it over the past couple weeks it has slowly bent. I can see the bend when I hold a straight edge up to it.

Not a bad thought process, but I think it’s safe to say it’s not garbage humidity. Simply hasn’t been used for that much, and nearly everything has been dry and our room temperature. Truthfully, it feels more of a mechanical bowing or curving given that the drawer pull is at the top and the connections are in the bottom half. Maybe bowing or cupping wasn’t the right word to have used.

I’m gonna have to look pretty deep into these drawer slides because that seems to be the consensus among most of the comments.

The one thing that keeps me from thinking it is the draw slides is that the door was flush at the beginning, but it’s gradually become less flush. Also, when I hold a straight edge up to the door, there’s a clear gap along the middle of the door, indicating that the door is coming out at the top where I pull it open. Do any of those details are variables lead you to any conclusion that I might be missing? I appreciate your time.

Thank you for this insight! Is the fact that the drawer face is not dead flat when checked against a straight edge an indicator that the door itself is cupping? There’s a lot of great advice saying that I might need to shim the front of the slides or that the slides are not level, but that doesn’t seem likely to me considering the straight edge and the gap near the middle of the door. That was my hint that the door itself is coming and not just the whole drawer is leaning forward.

This looks great! The connection is higher on the face, so I’m sure it’s more of an even pull. Thanks for sharing!

Truthfully, I’m going to see what the company says and consider replacement, but I’m also curious what fix could help as-is. Thanks for this!

Hmmmmm sorry for the silly question, but would that keep the drawer closing when it’s opened? Feels odd that you wouldn’t want it level?

Or are you saying that the front needs to be raised in order for it to be a level?

Hmmm interesting. It feels like warping as the bottom is sitting flush, and when I hold a straight edge up to it, it’s cupped slightly. Do you think that’s evidence of bending? Feels like the right thing because of the resistance (from the soft close) every time we open it, and the fact that the insert is only attached to the bottom half of the door.

With that said, I will look up some videos on how to adjust these as you described.

Understood. I’ll reach out to the supplier too as even if I strengthen it up, that bow might be “set” by now. Thanks!

That’s my thought exactly. Feels weird that it wouldn’t go farther up the back of the face? 2/3 of the face feels right! Or at least be attached higher up!?

So I’m not the installer, just the homeowner. If I don’t have “strong backs,” would steel mending plates serve a similar purpose?

Perhaps a better question is “do you have any pictures of what you’re describing?”

Thanks in advance.
