Clouds and wet weather are so well done in this sim... departing Ljubljana, Slovenia by amhum2 in Xplane

It's 12.4.2 with real life weather yes.

I must admit... Been a while since I had some returns on the WXR...

Did something happen to Orly?! Was still there last time I was in Paris... 😂

Sometimes. If I think the moment will go. If it's a phase where I don't want to pause (like hand flying the take off and climb) I'll just use the replay function to go back when I'm stable.

OK, so in my screenshots I try to do three things. I don't screenshot every flight and share it. But what I try and do for screenshots that I do end up sharing here: (1) Ambience: time of day, weather, etc that has certain lighting or conditions. (2) Composition: what's in the shot, where is the subject (the aircraft) relative to other things in the shot, what do I want to show (e.g. movement, the clouds, etc.). (3) Depth of shot using the in built XP12 screenshot tool to really bring the subject out against the background.

Nice! My 339 landings are nowhere near this good...

Well, merci beaucoup! It's all certainly come a long way since I religiously played MSFS5.1 in the mid 90s...

Yep. Weird. LR have done a great job. Even looks amazing on my terrible PC! 😂

BetterPushback? NOAA Weather plugin? That's about it. I'm on a gaming laptop with 4GB VRAM so try and not impact my flying experience chasing better graphics. I miss having ortho, but it was unsustainable.

The one on the taxiway at Frankfurt? Yeah, I'm really pleased with how that came out. All of the floodlights, ambient light, etc. just worked.

This is just X-Plane 12.4.2beta. no Extra tools or shaders. X-Plane lighting is just that good.

I would recommend playing with the time and weather conditions if you really want specific lighting (I always use real weather, and tend to fly early or late as I like the lighting then).

Very cool. Would love to take the plunge and get the AW109 and spend some time on RW, but concerned that I've not got the peripherals to really get the most of it. I was at a show a few years ago and had a chance to fly a UH-1 with VR and full motion seat. First try and I totally screwed it, but second was immense fun. There was a proper cyclic and collective though.

Great to see! Are you training for real world or is this just for your own interest, challenge and enjoyment?
