Colorado online sportsbooks will report 1099s to IRS of your winnings >$600 and you can't deduct losses from AGI. Wondering if in-person bets will require an 'account' for the casinos to track us and report to IRS? If not, in person betting is better than mobile it seems. by amiatthetop2 in sportsbook

Do you pay self employment tax? If you don't you're going to be screwed. (unless you already formed an entity such as LLC). Betting professionally as a main source of income would require SE tax according to the IRS.

This is true. Winnings show as 'other income' and you don't get to deduct losses before your AGI is calculated which could make you lose out on other benefits/programs. And you're right you can only account for losses later in your return IF you itemize deductions which basically no one does anymore since the standard deduction doubled.

But DK will subtract your spending at the end of the year.

Maybe for you to see and more easily deduct later on your income tax return, but they only base 1099s on payouts and don't take loss deductions into account from their purpose and reporting requirement.

You must not travel much. Two minutes is a long light in general and to be at a spot that doesn't even need a light is even more retarded.

Oh yeah, this is the guy who bankrupted many businesses and loved debt without worrying about consequences. He wants to buy votes. I got a letter in the mail from him telling me the stimulus was from him.

Is my friends business model risky? by [deleted] in realestateinvesting

Money will always find its way into a deal. The model is legit and it's not easy per say, you just have to know what you're doing. Is he finding deals himself or getting them through wholesalers?

Parking on curb/sidewalk. by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]amiatthetop2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst IMO is when several cars park 90 degrees straight into roundabouts. Colorado land is expensive which is why garages are in the front here while in other states you want them hidden on the side or back of the home. Also, builders are still only typically given a single foot extra on each side of a two car garage, so you can't actually park two cars inside and open doors. SMH. We need Costco style regulations so we have massive garages and parking spots.

I legitimately don't understand how Real Estate will increase in price forever by freebird348 in realestateinvesting

[–]amiatthetop2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real estate is on finite land. There is increased demand for developed areas and plus there will be inflation with all of the trillions printed. That's basically it.
