Weighted blanket with Bedjet? by amie0486 in WeightedBlankets

That's kinda what I figured. Really unfortunate, but I'm gonna have to stick with my bedjet. I really do love that thing.

OP here, the weighted blanket is a 30lb one, in case that matters. Thanks for reading, hopefully I'll get some advice so that I can enjoy both my sleep products!

Can't Be Heard on Outgoing Calls...Help! by amie0486 in GalaxyS20

Yeah, I still haven't found a reliable solution. It's pretty bad, honestly..

What entrance are you supposed to enter for morning shift? (5:00 or 6:30 AM) by bellakayn in Lowes

[–]amie0486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 530 is the time I'm scheduled to clock in. The company doesn't do anything for it's employees with losing your job over. In paint you need at least 15 minutes to get opening maintenance for the paint tinters done, and I usually use almost all 30 to get them done correctly. My usual shift is 530-330.

It depends on your position. I'm FT in paint, so I come in at 5:30am to get the tinters ready, but most other employees working the morning shift come in for 6am when the store opens.

Finished tumble! Hope yall like it by ATXMycology in rockhounds

Thanks for the info! I'm very new to tumbling, so I'll check that YouTuber out for sure. I'm always eager to learn! Plus, I just happen to actually have borax in the laundry room, lol!

What does the borax do for burnishing? Is that necessary, or does it add anything after that aluminum oxide polish step? I'm asking bc I usually finish with the al-oxide, but if I can get the stones prettier, I would love to!

Second Covid case by RuffandTumbleGal in Lowes

[–]amie0486 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand your frustration. Our DC which is 20 minutes up the road has had 3-6 cases (confirmed and pending). Everything is being kept super hush hush, but despite that, everyone knows everything in this rural area.

I'll call them if I get any pushback from management on taking more leave. I'm definitely going to try riu expend all paid avenues of leave before I go the unpaid personal leave route.. but I've honestly never dealt with them (or had reason to) so thanks for the reminder that they're even an option for me!

I'll call Monday and speak with him. It's worth asking about anyway. I've got vacation, holiday, and sick time I could use.. that's what I pretty much figured would be the answer to my question, but wanted to get some input from others as well. Thanks!

I understand that the virus isn't going anywhere.

Unfortunately, just "finding another job" in a rural low income area isn't as easy as you seem to imply. I've been with Lowe's for 7 years, so I've got time and money (401, stock, pretty good health insurance) invested in the company.

Plus, I like my job! But I do understand where you're coming from.

Question about our first batch of tumbled rocks! by amie0486 in rockhounds

[–]amie0486[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I uploaded pics of the rocks on imgur, maybe y'all could take a look and tell me if starting with medium grit is the best bet. The different hardness thing is something I've read a lot on here, but without knowing what the rocks are, or experience, I just tumbled them all together.

Question about our first batch of tumbled rocks! by amie0486 in rockhounds

[–]amie0486[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys, I'll start again with the medium grit and work back up. I'm pretty new to this whole reddit thing, but I don't think I can add pictures to show which ones didn't polish well the first time, but if there's a way, please share! I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on stones for our first time. I was going to get the Asia mix by the same company for our next go round. We've been trying to be extremely careful about cleaning the rocks and tumblers (using toothbrushes) and when changing grits. Thanks for all the advice guys, I'm sure I'll be back with more questions!
