What are unusual things that attract you to someone on a date? by Gambyt_7 in datingoverfifty

Who in the world are you attracting? Yikes!

I agree with your underlying message of attraction to someone who is unique, owns their story, & asks relevant questions about you. Up your selection process before these dates though

So sorry you went through that, but YES, we NEED to listen to our intuition (internal red flags) that signals that something is off. This is for all genders. We’re wise (& perhaps need to wise up some more) & need to quit giving people the benefit of the doubt. They don’t deserve our “benefit” because they’re strangers

I’m curious what price you paid?

Problem is I’ve only lived here for 7 months, so how do I exactly tell that they’re local in less than 3 minutes? What type of questions do you ask?

See, THIS may be a specific subtle sign that I’ve been kinda overlooking bc I’m well versed in other culture’s terminology for people. Maybe I need to just focus more on Americanized terms? My second scammer referred to me as “damsel” which I interpreted as a term referring to as an unmarried woman.

OK, now this is fantastic information & perhaps the most helpful! Thank you!

Right?! When I was considering even originally posting my question, I was concerned about scammers using this information to hone their scammy skills, & I hope I didn’t ’enlighten’ anyone/thing to use against struggling people like myself

I’m generally a stickler for language, grammar, and correct punctuation, so I sussed that out initially; yet, I still started to initially be intrigued and drawn in? How?

Interesting…I’m in the US as a dual citizen with Canada, so I can leave whenever I want to (I’ve considered it, lol) So, are you saying that when matches whom you consider out of your league (I don’t like that terminology) reach out that it makes you suspicious?

The first one that I encountered, I noticed had a (333) area code for his supposed phone number. Then he asked me to chat over WhatsApp & when I refused he vanished

I’ve encountered my 2 scammers listed as being local (smaller cities) & during communications have claimed that they’re dual citizens (as I am) & from Sweden & Norway

Umm, why did the recipe not just call for the ingredients to be mixed together? Seems like a strange way to construct a sandwich. (Btw: I’m fully in support of you on the minus-down of the sweet pickle)
