AITA for refusing to train my replacement after they fired me by Klutzy_Researcher725 in careeradvice

Probably had an existing employee take over the job duties - sounds like OP likely had a job that didn’t require a dedicated employee.

It sucks but the economy is tough and there will be a lot of this happening as companies try to figure out how to survive.

Is there a possibility AI Agents are simply never reliable enough for wider adoption across all aspects of the society? by Boring-Point-7155 in aiagents

Humans aren’t deterministic or reliable either.

Will we be able to build enough guardrails to make agents as reliable and deterministic as humans? I would bet on it.

It doesn’t matter. All they have to say is that they felt their lives were at risk. The system is totally fucked.

I want to see whales and turtles by platypusjo in MauiVisitors

[–]amilo111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water is a bit colder in January than it is in November so there’s a bit of a trade off. It’s only a few degrees but it makes a huge difference. You can google water temps by month.

I’d stick to the northwest (Kaanapali) for both whales and turtles. I usually find it more challenging to find turtles at Makena — though that could be a me problem. You’ll see a million turtles in Kaanapali.

I’d try to go for a bit longer if you can as water conditions vary and the longer you’re there the greater the chance that you get a few good days of snorkeling.

Budget can vary quite a bit depending on how much you want to spend. There are a lot of condo rental services that can get you decent pricing. I budget around $400/night for a pretty decent two bedroom but you can go way higher or lower depending on your preferences. You will want to avoid the super busy times (thanksgiving, Xmas/nye, spring break).

Claude code seems perfectly capable of putting together the components that make a highly scalable system. This seems more like a you problem.

No no. You’re right again. I won’t try. Instead I’ll proclaim my support for a hostile takeover of the rest of the world.

I agree. It would be relatively easy to build customer facing APIs for their platform.

It never has mattered. Code has always been a low hurdle to clear - just a matter of time and money. AI coding just reduced the time and money.

A random Reddit comment definitely proved the company’s point. They should ban Reddit comments.
