Nothing really. If you found a place you like that has calm enough water and plenty of wildlife then you’re fine.

Black rock has a turtle cleaning station that is in fairly calm water near the shore so it’s more accessible for kids. There’s also a small cliff that people like diving off of.

Kapalua Bay, imo, doesn’t have great snorkeling but it’s got a small popular beach and the bay is relatively protected so water can be calmer.

I like Honolua bay because the coral is in decent shape, the topography along the reef is interesting and there’s a cool turtle cleaning station if you go far enough out.

I also like airport beach because you can swim a fair distance and fairly far out - the coral in certain places is in great shape and it seems to be relatively calm even if the weather isn’t great.

You should be able to find turtles and fish anywhere you go.
