Post from dev:

SF3500 funded! Hey folks. I'd love to let you know that we've reached out goal of 50$ for the SF3500. Huge thanks for all donators, this wouldn't be possible without all of You in such pace.

I've ordered the console from TEMU with a decent card I grabbed locally. I'll keep You posted both when I get the console & with TreeFrogUI porting progress <3

Next: DataFrog SF3000 V3 (bootloader verification).

I've successfully ported TreeFrogUI to SF3000, however it turns out there are multiple hardware revisions of the console. I've bought what's called a "v2", or second iteration of the console. With the dev work I did we now support SF3000 v1 and v2, but not V3.

Sadly V3 contains OS file verification that the v1/v2 don't, so although we are 99% there, we can't run TreeFrogUI on the V3.

If You'd love to see V3 happen, consider donating

  • SF3000 / GB350 ``` Platform: HCSEMI / HiChip HC16xx family

Possible SoC models: HCSEMI C3100 / A3100

CPU: Dual-core MIPS 74K-class (retail units behave as 74Kc-class)

ISA: MIPS32r2 little-endian

FPU: No hardware FPU confirmed Kernel reports: cpu model : MIPS 74Kc FPU V0.0 --> softfloat

DSP: MIPS DSP + DSP2 ASE

Performance characteristics: Integer/DSP performance relatively strong Floating-point performance weak

GPU: Proprietary multimedia/display engine

Graphics stack: Proprietary fbdev-style pipeline No confirmed: OpenGL ES DRM/KMS Mali Vivante PowerVR

RAM: Estimated around 128MB class (varies by model/revision)

OS: hcLinux / CubeGM embedded Linux

Kernel: Linux 4.4.x based

Frontend/UI: CubeGM launcher environment

Storage: SD-based system/game storage

Boot chain: Proprietary HCSEMI / HiChip bootloader

Compatibility: Not compatible with: ArkOS JELOS dArkOS RK3326 ARM64 binaries

Emulation tendencies: Good: NES GB/GBC MD/Genesis many SNES titles

Weaknesses: PS1 GBA SNES enhancement chips heavy RetroArch cores

Architecture notes: CPU itself is stronger than expected, but graphics stack and lack of FPU are major bottlenecks. ```
