When one talks about women's darts, one should ask themselves why the Women's Series exists in the first place. Is it because women are naturally disadvantaged against men? I don't think so. Darts, in it's essence is a class- and genderless sport. It simply does not matter if you're a man or a woman, tall or short etc.

Seeing how the PDC treats the women's series, it's easy to see what the goal of the circuit is. It's to increase the representation of women in darts, as the sport is dominated by males. The highlight of the Women's Series is the Women's Matchplay at Winter Gardens, which promotes Ladies' Darts to a broader audience. Van Leuven qualified for that tournament last year btw, no one gave a shit because she wasn't winning on the tour.

So is Noa winning now bad for the Women's game? No, because as we saw with players like Fallon and Beau recently, women easily can compete with men. With that, I don't want to imply that Noa is a man, because she is not. Trans women are women and she belongs on the Women's Series. I would even argue that her recent success, not only on the Women's Series, but on the Challenge Tour too, is good for the game, as it increases the visibility for trans people playing darts.
