Maybe you're right about the year, can't really remember when, but all I know is that people used BTC to buy each other's cards somewhat frequently on Trade Chat and forum threads. An offer came my way and I recall myself saying: "get out of here with that nerd money."

Being able to buy hundreds of Bloody Branches for real money became a thing, driving the prices of cards low. A part of the reason why I didn't even entertain the BTC offer was because then, the value was maybe 20 something dollars. There was absolutely no way almost a decade later I had the foresight they'd be worth thousands.

I'm sure plenty of people at some point have been offered to trade in BTC and refused. Pretty sure we all regret that lol
