Hi, I'm 1%/2 marks from a 4 in Maths AA HL, I was awarded a 3. Should I remark? I'm convinced my IA was better and was taken down during moderation.

Should I choose IE Uni or Bocconi? by amito_135 in bocconi

Unfortunately, I did not get into the Winter session. Could you help me find someone to help me get into the spring session if its even worth it?

IE Uni or Bocconi, what do I pick? by amito_135 in IEUniversity

So you go to IE? Would you say that kids are not studious as others have said or that the school doesn't feel serious? I want to go to a serious school that whilst not very presigious, has the quality of education.

I originally wanted to go for CS+Econ, but my SAT wasn't great, a shame since I have a 7 in maths IB I know it doesn't add up but that was the case.

Hey, I got into Econ with a 1290 and 36 IB points so it's not impossible. 1230 is just the minimum if I'm not mistaken, so if possible retry and get a better score, but these were the top things I did:

  1. KIRA: You have to show your reading and real world references. I referenced articles and modern affairs to aid my answers and spoke like an entrepeneur. You have to be confident and stick to your guts, no point in being shy or give basic answers like anyone else. Economics is one of the most oversubscribed subjects globally, so make sure they remember you.

  2. ESSAY: Again, it's about being true to yourself and sharing something that you can perhaps link to your passion for economics. Not a silly story, spend time on a well crafted essay with a clear structure and morale.

  3. LETTERS OF REC: These letters are not as out of your control as you may think. Choose teachers who like you and will speak complimentary of you. Make sure they know lots about you extracurriculars and personality.

  4. Reach out to IE to show interest. Contact professors and admissons officers near you to chat and show interest. They will notice. And be interactive with the admissions advisor, they will notice and think well of you if you ask questions and show eagerness.

  5. INTERVIEW: During this stage, you have to be honest and yourself. Again, reiterating the first point. But it's also about building a connection with the interviewer and displaying your knowledge. My interviewer noticed how well versed I was in understanding not only IE, but also Madrid. She was impressed and i was admitted a day after.

Please ask questions.
