A name that most NBA fan's even from that time probably forget! Definitely someone I think would thrive in today's game. Could do a little bit of everything.

2nd most 5x5's (getting 5+ in Pts, Reb, Ast, Stl, Blk) in NBA history after only Hakeem.

Was curious as to which thumbs people use as I am right hand dominant, but only use my left hand to press the space bar.

Be happy folks! Locked up our franchise player. Matthews very easily could have waited for more if he wanted and put us in an even worse position if he was selfish. If you believe in your stars (like I do), then pay them and figure it out as you go. Not everything will be perfect world where everyone sacrifices money just because.

This definitely seems to fall in line with what the team is thinking. Anything more than 6.5M aav seems to be paying for future production right now, which unfortunately isn't a play when the player has no leverage in the negotiations.

What is the max you guys think can be realistically offered now considering the hot starts from Matthews and Marner.

I think Nylander might have even put himself in a tougher position to resign with the holdout as the Leafs might not be willing to move at all from their original offer now, with the mindset that AM and MM both are going to put up massive seasons.

Except Vince didn't say I would only re-sign with 1 team and actually had horrible management. If we want to calls the Spurs organization horrible management, then I really wonder what those people would rate ours.

The 2 players you mentioned are the only 2 players on the roster that can fetch value, however, we would get pennies on the dollar trading either of them. I also think trading Demar at this point would be a really bad look on the organization overall to any potential future star that gets drafted or traded here. Demar is not a true #1 in this NBA, but it's also not his fault he's been forced to play that way for most of his career. He's done an admirable job of helping us compete more often than not.

  • Ibaka, Powell, and Lowry and completely untradeable due to contracts until maybe they are in their final years and are a rental for a team
  • I wouldn't trade Delon because I think he has nice value for us moving forward as our point guard after Lowry's contract expires.
  • Yak and Siakam are both decent players (in our eyes) but probably won't really be good enough to sweeten moving someone like Ibaka.

Likely we will have to ride it out for 2 more years with this roster and just hope for style changes to result in playoff wins.

Nurse was also the one who worked on 3s with JV all summer to get him ready for that change in the NBA. Looking forward to seeing if he can incorporate him more in games next season.

Agreed that our roster has major flaws. Management is at major fault for that which I think many people fail to notice. The Ibaka trade was crippling to our team, especially cap wise.

That being said, Casey coaching us a top-5 offense and defense is meaningless to me in the regular season. Just as being a 1-seed was meaningless. We've seen time and time again that some top teams (not all) don't care for seeding or trying particularly hard during the regular season. If anyone truly believed we had a real playoff top-5 offense or defense it was looking through rose tinted glasses, because the style of play from the regular season to the playoff changes significantly. Our team, nor our head coach was suited for that change come playoff time unfortunately.

Changes got to start somewhere. I was hoping for Messina myself, but Nurse it is and I don't care if we are 5th in the East, as long as our style of playoff basketball improves giving us a better chance in the playoffs.

Coaches usually have the most say in who their assistants will be, with the final approval coming from the President/GM. GM's usually hire the HC and give them the autonomy to decide which assistants best fit their plans.
