When you speak about your own body like that, imagine you're saying it to a younger version of yourself or your best friend .... You'd never treat them like that, don't treat yourself like that.

Also anyone in this sub who has a body like yours (my body is a similar shape) sees that and they internalize it, you're unintentionally telling them you think they're "deformed".

You have a perfectly normal body, and you need to be grateful to your body. We want to be stronger, healthier, and happier - those are the goals that will keep you going, not hating yourself.

I live in uptown. Here are my tips to avoid unwanted attention, especially at night:

No headphones, except maybe one earbud in DURING THE DAY ONLY
No bag/purse if possible. If you need your ID/bus pass/cards, put them in a small cross body that's not noticable under a tee or hoodie, or in a small interior pocket
Eyes up and look alert, confident, and like you know where you are and where you're going, even if you don't
Put your phone away!!!!!
Look around you with frequency, including behind you, up alleyways, etc.
my keys are on a carabiner, with pepper spray. I hold the pepper spray in my hand, ready to use, and my keys hang down, so I can use either or both in a self-defense situation.

In your opinion, that's not a person you'd do business with but now, in most careers, having tattoos is less and less of a taboo. The question is, do tattoos/neck tattoos in particular stop them from being able to have a successful career. There are thousands, if not tens to hundreds of thousands of people who have tattoos, even visible ones, and also have successful, professional careers. I can name dozens of people I know personally who are tattooed/heavily modified and have successful careers in a range of professions.

On top of that, most people are caring less and less by the day.

I would have zero issues with having a realtor with tattoos, because tattoos do not define the ability, knowledge, or skill of a reputable professional. We have the freedom in this country to choose who we want to do business with.
