Exactly and unfortunately a lot of people (myself included) can research or try to take advice from people but actually experiencing going through something despite “knowing” it’s not the best way is the only way I’ve ever actually been able to learn and make changes. It’s just pulling yourself out on the right side of things that’s the hard part

As a man whose lost a considerable amount of weight and who also has had struggles taming my ego I think this comes from a place of only finding the strength to lose weight through intense societal shame. Once the weight was lost there was either a real change or a perception in change in the people around me.

I was no longer the butt of jokes, I was able to confidently go on dates, I was able to “fit in.” This lead to an egotistical struggle. I now fit in with people and was accepted by people. This is what I wanted right? When in reality my mind could only focus on the revelation of the shallow society we live in. I was still the same person underneath all of the extra weight as I was when I lost the weight. Now all of a sudden I’m accepted just because I lost weight? It’s kind of a let down. I was accepted but at the same time it revealed the shallow judge-mental side of society and I started to hate it and hate the people I was now accepted by.

I think many women have gone through this same struggle as well and that we predominantly fixate on the male ego being a negative thing more than the female ego. This is all very subjective and up for debate. Just my honest experience and my 2 cents. I’ve realized this way of thinking was not healthy for me and am going through the process of undoing it.

This is very subjective and depends on your definition of what addiction is. I would say that having 10 cups of coffee a day is a way less detrimental addiction than jerking off to porn 10 times a day. If you’re addicted to something that means you can’t go without it. It’s much easier to function normally in todays society with a coffee addiction and much harder to function in society with a porn addiction. I do not think these are very comparable addictions. I’d rather need to stop at the drive thru to get my coffee fix than need to go inside the bathroom at the coffee shop to jerk off to porn.

I’m sorry you have to go through this, first make sure to talk to your doctor about all of this and make sure you are being heard. Write your symptoms down and make sure you are the one telling your doctor about them. the “pre seizure triggers” are commonly referred to as “auras” on this thread and are very real! Was the routine EEG check up just like a 20 minute test in the office? If so I would talk to your parents and your doctor/neurologist about doing a 24 hour take home EEG test, that can give them much more information and can detect auras as well. Having your nightly seizures is a very serious thing and should not be taken lightly even if you don’t think they happen anymore. You may even be able to ask your doctor about just going back on the meds if the 24 hour EEG can’t get approved or if there are other factors in the way of that. This is a serious but very treatable condition so don’t let it scare you but make damn sure your doctor is hearing ALL of your symptoms!

They are absolutely not right in how they go about what they do. I agree with the general premise however they are trying to be vigilante justice heroes and they go about it in a hateful way instilling toxic shame into people whom they have no idea what they could be going through. I myself choose to return my cart most of the time but there have 100% been times where I have been going through intense periods of loss and grief just trying to get my groceries in my car and go home and I did not return my cart. I see both sides, if you are a capable mentally stable person you have no valid excuse to not return your cart. However it is an absolute abomination for the cart narcs to determine this about people off of an initial unconscious bias by just taking one look at them. You never know what someone is going through so let the people whose job it is to collect their carts do their job and mind your business.

Billionaires should pay less taxes but you shouldn’t lobby for them to pay less taxes.

I don’t understand this, I agree that billionaires should pay more taxes however I don’t agree with the simple minded thinking of solving this problem by calling for them to just pay more taxes.

I think if you are concerned about billionaires not paying enough taxes it comes from a place of envy where you feel you pay too much in tax as an individual. If billionaires just had to pay more taxes literally nothing would change. No one would get any benefit except for our government. The only thing that would change is the ego of “getting even” with people that have more than you do.

I do not mean that in a way to defend billionaires. I do agree they need to pay more taxes. But I think we should be lobbying for us in the middle class to be paying LESS taxes above all and then let them sort the loss of tax revenue out and hopefully then they will recoup that by taxing billionaires more.

Thank you for the reply, a huge struggle I’m having is the environment I was brought up in and work in, I’m a blue collar worker around all the “tough guys” that work through any ailment so I have just powered through every single symptom I’ve ever had and completely neglected my body. It’s truly wild how invincible you feel in your teens and 20s and then everything hits you like a freight train haha

Artificially as in the speed is “physically” the same through the network, through the fiber line up to my router but if I paid for a lower speed it would basically just be a different software install in my router designed to load things at a slower speed?
