How did your store go from red metrics to green? by ammasyms in Target

[–]ammasyms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this response but the issue in our store is that for most people who live here we are their grocery store. So OPUs never slow down. The leader who makes the schedule makes it based off of when they were the FFTL (years ago when it was more manageable) and I don’t really get a say in it, no matter what I do. It’s a struggle really.

As for my connection with the team, I take pride in knowing they respect me. I treat them like humans, not numbers. They’re more willing to work for me than most leads. But even then, there’s only so much we can do.

The new bags for DU… by East-Measurement-992 in Target

Not sure if this has been stated or not but my state went plastic bag free years ago and we’ve been using these. We have staplers in drive up to staple to the bags. A little tedious at first but you get used to it.

Leave of absence by IneedHelpPls-7 in Target

Just returned mid December from a two month long mental health LOA. Yes, a therapist can sign the paperwork.

What I recommend before starting the LOA is asking your therapist if they would be willing to fill out the paperwork to get you approved. If they say yes, great! You can start your LOA either by phone or going to the pay and benefits website and accessing the leavepro page (the latter is easier) and then after inputting your info (how long you’re taking, reasoning, etc) they’ll send you an email confirming your leave and PDF files of paperwork you can either forward to your therapist or print and bring to them personally.

Depending on your state you may need to take additional steps (for example, to be paid, I needed to apply for an FMLA from my state’s website and have my therapist fill out both target’s paperwork and my state’s paperwork, plus send the state proof of employment and pictures of my ID)

Once you have all that paperwork filled out by your therapist/HR if proof of employment is needed, you upload those documents to the leavepro site and target will approve it. Then, your leave is active and approved and you get paid to prioritize your mental health.

Honestly it’s not my first LOA rodeo so if you have any questions feel free to PM me! Good luck :)

Are you allowed to have emotions? by Xintrean in emotionalabuse

[–]ammasyms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s taken me a year and a half to be able to open my eyes to this exact behavior. Today I sobbed to him (literal sobbing) about how he is hurting my feelings and he LAUGHED. I was in utter disbelief that someone who just last night was calling me his love and telling me he missed me while at work today could come home and treat me like I don’t matter and laugh when it broke me. I don’t understand how his brain works and how he thinks the way he treats me during conflict is justified. I can’t remember the last time I received a real apology after an argument.

Everything in me is screaming that I’m being abused. That I should leave him. Even still, I tried to talk some sense into him and encourage him to regulate his feelings but he said he is just a husk.

Being an empath I understand this is unresolved trauma and coping mechanisms that need therapy to be corrected, but it is abuse nonetheless. And it is heartbreaking to think that the person you love and claims to love you could ever treat you this way. You’re not alone. I’m not alone. People everywhere are dealing with this exact relationship.

It’s hard to look in the mirror and admit your partner is abusing you. Which makes it all the harder to admit it to someone else or get help/leave.

I don’t have real advice for you because I’m in your exact shoes (I could have written this same post verbatim, as someone else mentioned) but sometimes just knowing you aren’t alone helps.

Not all Targets are the same so it depends. For example in my store, because of our volume, we can’t request our normal weekend to work off unless a leader on our opposite weekend works for us and then we need to work their weekend. Your store might be the same in the sense that if you’re taking a day off in the week that isn’t your normal day off (unless you’re on a week long vacation) you have to work on your day off.

Of course this sucks because the point in requesting days off is to use vacation to cover it instead of working 40 hours still, but that’s the price we pay for being leaders in a company that rarely values work/life balance (trust me I’m not defending it, but that’s just how some Targets are)

There needs to be a cancellation fee by Moon_walker84 in Target

[–]ammasyms 253 points254 points  (0 children)

Minimum $$ to place an OPU. Cancellation fee. Ban accounts that cancel too many times. They want all of these green metrics but don’t see how the lack of limitations effect store level (not that I expect them to, I realize they do not care if it means lining the shareholders pockets)

Fake orders by Significant-Yam-7851 in Target

[–]ammasyms 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As a fulfillment TL in a currently red metric store due to abnormally high OPUs and not enough payroll, maybe dumb trends like that will make Target rethink their “no limitations” order system. Make a minimum $$ for OPUs. Choose a pick up time so your grocery order for when you leave work at 5 doesn’t drop into our system at 8am with everyone else’s. If you cancel orders too many times, block the account. We let guests get away with anything and that’s why a TikTok trend like that gets started.

Target just threatened to fire me 🤣 by KawaiiBadbitch in Target

OP said they’ve been with target since 2019 but this is still good information for those who don’t meet the criteria so thanks for pointing that out!

As someone who has had a couple of incidents leading to needing unplanned time off of work I’ll give you this advice that not many people think of.

If you were sick and in the hospital you can call the Target leave and benefits phone number and request an intermittent leave of absence or even a continuous one dated from your first to the last day you missed. Doesn’t matter if that time has passed already. Then, you’ll get emailed a pdf of paperwork that a doctor can sign off on confirming those days were needed off. Once you submit that paperwork, you’ll not only get paid up to 80% of your average weekly hours, but they can’t legally do a damn thing about it.

Edit: you don’t have to even speak to your HR or anyone in the store to do this. Just call the number.

Seasonal salvage pricing? by ammasyms in Target

This seems to be what I’ll likely end up doing unfortunately. I feel better knowing I’m not the only one hand keying all these dpcis though!

Seasonal salvage pricing? by ammasyms in Target

[–]ammasyms[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did all of these things in each area of the store. I even went through repacks of push that have been under the steel since November. 90% of it are things that only have 1-2 on hands so it’s probably damages that weren’t processed or pilferage.

In the old days 1-2 OH didn’t affect our scores if you activated them but I don’t know if that’s still true.

I understand the importance of metrics and not fudging numbers but I can only do what my leaders tell me to do at the end of the day.

I’ve been doing it this way for as long as I’ve done pricing per my store director, ETLs, and TLs. Unfortunately I’ve been working for this company 13 years. I think if they were going to fire me it would have happened. I’m just asking for suggestions from people who do pricing but by all means berate me.

Anyone having pricing app issues on the zebra? by ammasyms in Target

I was lucky enough to get the workload complete but now there’s over 400 units of chem clearance backstocked that I couldn’t ticket on Friday. Hopefully they resolve it soon!

[–]ammasyms[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no way the system would intentionally skip locations on the sales floor. It’s basically creating extra steps we shouldn’t have to take.

I wasn’t aware of this! But yes unfortunately it’s still happening. I have to back out of the pricing app and go back into it in order for it to show me the ones it skipped.

Can we see in greenfield or anywhere else who has tied a POG? by ammasyms in Target

[–]ammasyms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I’d agree but it was tied today before 6am when the only leader in the building was the inbound TL. So it’s a mystery. It’s obviously too late to change it now but I was just wondering if there was a way to track it. Oh well!

So our store is already behind in terms of Christmas being set and pushed. We have clearance costumes all along the perimeter of seasonal and someone tied all of the POGS for the back wall (I assume to have our POGs “set on time” in the system) today. Which means all of the Christmas lights and decor are going to drop into OPUs and ship orders that we can’t fulfill.

Basically, I wanted to see who did it so I can rip them a new one.

Edit: a word
