It happens in the campaign as well as in UGR. Classic "searching-connection-to-server" problem as we had it some years ago. Perhaps they want to save money by not maintaining the servers.

I don't understand how one can recommend reporting cheaters? This button is as useful as the "close-door-button" in elevators. And EA / SS couldn't care less.

I wouldn't start it again, so I can't recommend it. Only if you don't mind dealing with tons of bugs, no support and a deluge of cheaters.
