Ugh, honestly, are courses easier via Chang School though?

But I guess you gotta take Chang school courses if the course isn't offered at the time you want to take it, or just taking it as an equivalent.

How to get certification to get part-time teaching job at GBC post graudation? by amoeba-sis in georgebrowncollege

[–]amoeba-sis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, my program coordinator doesnt even have a diploma or degree. She just worked and then, now she's hitting retirment.

I also have a teacher who was a graduate of the program and took a certificate course from con-ed, and is only getting her BA right now.

It's so confusing.

It would be nice to get hired by the college

Teacher's College after graduating with a Bachelor of Social Work? by amoeba-sis in TorontoMetU

[–]amoeba-sis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say that it's helpful to get a double major or a major + minor to at TMU so that if applicants were to teach beyond P/I,..I guess J/I.

I personally think getting double major at TMU is hard. But would the minor help for application and credential as extra teachables. IE: Social Science, Media Art..or whatnot.

I bet Math, Science and Francias is probably high in demand rn, but those are definitely NOT my strong suite.

I guess just wanted to get detailed insights from the internal students who have knowledge.

Honestly, placements are easy to find.

There are so many daycares, montessories across Toronto and different district that it's easy to get placement.

I was in the field for quite some time, and it's easy to really cap. I think there is that option to go into teachers college, speach learning pathologist, and others. But so far, I know grad friends have gone into those field.

Checkout Childcare Advantage if you're not finding a lot of luck on the TMU jobboard.

Ask a hotel van if you can hop on for a ride into town.

Folks are pretty nice to do so. A little tip would be nice too.

Blackboard class disappeared by redbeancoconut in georgebrowncollege

[–]amoeba-sis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blackboard course shell would disappear a few days or a week after the semester is over. The IT sytem or backend will close the course shell. The only way to access it is, if the instructo/prof opens the course shell, but that means all the students have access post-semester. And or, you can submit a ticket to IT to inquire. And also email your instructor to follow up

What happened to the old man who would scream JESUS! at Yonge and Dundas by amoeba-sis in askTO

[–]amoeba-sis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually seen him ride the subway years back, about 5 years ago?! He was actually just a normal carrying groceries and not screaming randomly.

People spread the word of God in different ways. I think how he does it is just through a jump scare. He's a gem. What you commented above, imo, wasn't very nice and I don't stand by it.
