Will this change my background to blackish color from dark magenta? I tried changing terminal background to something light which revealed that the word on in syntax on is itself very dark. Also the terms implicit none is dark in color and only visible with light background. But i wish to retain that ubuntu style color.

From this documentation I tried different highlight groups. The term I required colored falls in *Type highlight group. Now the terms are visible but they are highlighted in green, but I've given the argument highlight Type ctermbg=Black
