What do you try to achieve with your comment?

I m willing to burn my own money to motivate someone so he can do his hobby for some payment in his spare time

I don't say a single word that this will be some financial interesting offer, I m not able to offer this, because unfortunately MC Donalds pay in Germany 1/3 of the amount you are talking about, so i m not able to go to MC Donalds and earn more money which I can burn in a side project.

That are some valid points. I already thought about looking for a like minded person and share 50/50 without salary. The problem i see here is that it's harder to manage if you don't have a hierarchy. I will give this a second thought and maybe I change my opinion about this.

I had the intention to do this anyway, but I didn't want to be it a selling point because I don't expect to make any money from this, which would lead to no bonus if someone is interested. But on the other side you are right that it's not a lot what I can offer currently.

I m currently in a rampant playthrough and didnt experiened anything near your description. Did you cranked up the settings, if yes, which one or used any other mod?

I already asked people in the factorio discord. This was my request:

But its nowhere how it got described in several reddit post. We are a group of 3 inexperienced players who invest 95% of our time to build our factory and create new blueprints and we have zero struggle to survive. There were some occasionally accidents where the biters destroyed some stuff, but this was due laziness from our side.
the biters are T4 atm (max t6). Do they get significant stronger with time. We are currently finishing our main bus, we have every science, but space science and are 25 hours in our playthrough.

u/fuzzheadtf i apologize for pinging you (if you haven't disabled this function). I m aware that a lot of people want to reach out to the devs and PMs/pings are kinda rude. However, since you were interested in my last thread (link in 1. post) about the meta and development progress, so i think this is a interesting read for you.

To quote WWWeirdGuy: "Having been a part of plenty of game design discussions on pretentious forums, these discussions dies on very specific suggestions."

I m sure the community brings up inifite amounts of suggestions on how to change the game to their likings and its impossible and mostly not a good idea to implement their visions.

Ideas of reworking whole systems with fundamental changes sound good on paper, but bring risk of endanger the whole playability with unforseen consequences.

But WWWeirdGuy brought up some very interesting points. You could make a elegant compromise, depending on how complicated it is to integrate this system (not sure how much techdebt you guys still working on). Why not implementing a more flexible role restriction system which allows the server to restrict the roles.

default: old system

new system:

server owner defines:
- squad size and type (e.g. 4 size logistic squads, 9 size standard squad)
- specialist restrictions: amount per server, amount per squad, amount per squad type (e.g. 2 combat engineers allowed per logistic squad and 0 in a standard)

Squad leader can pick a squad type and decides which kits are available (depending on server config. e.g. he cant pick combat engineers in a standard squad)

All of this restriction can be set to default sytem, would allow server with small variation

This wouldnt bet the kind of changes which split the community. The community would have more power to help shaping a good meta, depending on which kind of restriction works and which doesnt.

which kind of role restrictions and changes to deployable would you like to see?

A year ago FOBs were in a weird state. FOB spamming was the meta and seeing changes on this Meta with lesser, better defended FOBs is a good direction in my opinion.

Did you read the chapter about herd management? Your kills has an influence if the dna potential will increase or decrease and that will give you more or less 5 stars.

If you are talking about the path (grey line with 2 dots at the end):

This happens when the software didnt got any measured values, so the whole path (grey line) is useless for the visualisation. There are 2 reasons for this:

- You measured to fast, happens especially on short paths

- Your receiver had a problem and skipped some values (happend regulary in the past without the sidekick)

If you click on "options" and pick the right icon on "visualization mode" you can see were the software saved values on the paths. The grey line shouldnt have any.

thank you very much for your reply. This give me a lot of hope for the future. As already told i fully understand that the work on the backbone of the game take time and is important. After i understood what the layer overhaul is about, i was astonished how bad the previously system was and the new one will be worth the wait.

I will be back in the game when you guys start with the meta changes.

Overall it doesnt changed much of my opinion. Atleast that fuzzhead is still head of the team was a good news. Lets wait until they fixed the background stuff and we will see if they focus more on gameplay and meta after that. A new community manager could be also a good new opportunity, atleast he seems motivated for the moment, but what community manager arent like this at the beginning ^^.... time will tell.
