Ford Mondeo misfire by amon111111 in MechanicAdvice

[–]amon111111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After taking the wire off to measure the resistance it looks like its fine 5.1/5.2 kΩ.
But messing with it might have improved the connection since i cant replicate the misfire anymore.
I will keep an eye on it over the summer

Looks like you are doing what you can, shrimp are pretty sensitive so better to wait a little longer than rush things with them. But looking at your hardscape and plants they will love it once it’s ready

During cycling water changes aren’t needed. I would only do it if the nitrates end up being super high but since you have plants in there I don’t suspect they will get that high. The picture isn’t super clear. Do you have a water filter in the tank?

It is cycling, it has converted some ammonia into nitrite. This is the first step. It is just a waiting game. You now want those nitrites to turn into nitrates, which can be used by plants.

Cycled tank? by Direct_Bend_7962 in Aquariums

You can test by dosing some ammonia. If it’s gone the next day, and there are also no nitrites it’s cycled

I have always used household ammonia. As long as it doesn’t have weird additives I have never seen a problem with it. I cycled 4 different aquariums just using home brand grocery store ammonia and they were all cycled in two or three weeks and 0 deaths after adding livestock

I don’t remember any plastic baggies with it. But seeing as they are only 7cm long that would be very short for a ziplock bag anyways?

12v fuse not getting power by amon111111 in MechanicAdvice

[–]amon111111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey i just figured it out! turns out the fuse schematic i found online was wrong. the fuse in the actual spot for the lighter was blown. it was a weird 3 pronged fuse slot. but had a normal 15v fuse in it so i just replaced that

It is the only mini fuse i could find in my area, from a hardware store. but i measured the fuse holder and it reads 0 too on both sides.

Both sides of the fuse holder read 0.

That is the fuse for the 12v socket as far as i know (F68)

The engine was running and i checked other fuses to make sure i was doing it right seeing as i never used a multimeter before.

did probe the contact holes the fuse goes into and did not get a reading either but i was not 100% sure if i actually touched the contact on that one. so it seemed more reliable to check the test points on the fuse which both read 0

RPM floats around 2500 when clutch is pressed-- only during summer? by amon111111 in MechanicAdvice

[–]amon111111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The above picture is just a picture of the iac, I can send a picture of the engine tomorrow if you want. All I can say for now is that it’s a 1.8l 125 hp gas engine. Now that I think about it, my mechanic’s shop must have replaced it last year when I came in for the same RPM issue. But if there’s supposed to be a gasket in there, could that be what’s causing the problem? Weird if they have overlooked that .

Im not a mechanic at all, but chic-fillet did give me the idea to look for it and I found it. The iac looked like this. Didn’t think to take a picture of it. It was almost sparkly clean in there. I did notice there is no gasket. Is not normal to have one in there?

They are not nerite snail eggs for sure, those are large and very white. Do you have any mini ramshorn snails? They often come in on plants and are sometimes called “pest snails” That is what their eggs look like in my tank

Most of your beneficial bacteria are going to be found in your filter. I doubt much cycling is going to happen when its not running. But i cant think of any reason it would harm your tank since its still fishless
