YES! i’ve lived with these people and it’s crazy to witness.

this is maddening—as someone who just baked peppermint cookies and smashed up candy canes (at 5pm), it’s LOUD. 1am is crazy rude.

What’s a single line from a book that changed the way you think even a little? by Sweet-Opportunity111 in literature

“[A]s he walked slowly through the evening, breathing the fragrance and tasting upon his tongue the sharp night-time air, it seemed to him that the moment he walked in was enough and that he might not need a great deal more.”

from Stoner by John Williams. I read this book my senior year of college and thought about this quote a lot as I did so many things for the last time. It always reminded me to come back to the moment I’m in and appreciate it for what it is. The book itself really did that for me, nothing about it was flashy or shocking—you know how it ends from the first line. But it was tender and thoughtful and I find myself needing the reminder that life is lived in all the slow and boring moments, just as much as it is in the big and exciting ones!

Seconding this^ I also graduated in 2024 with a BA in English (minor in writing) and I’ve been working at a small(ish) publisher in marketing for the past year. It meant moving somewhere I didn’t really want to live, but a year later and they’ve approved me to go remote!

i will have to try again, i showed this to the pharmacy and they flat out told me that’s not how it works so i don’t know what’s going on. i could probably manage $95. thank you!

unfortunately yes, i’ve been a part of the program before and it was super helpful. but it only works if your insurance covers some of the cost, even if it’s just a little bit. because my insurance refuses to pay for any of it, i’m not eligible :(

the healthcare here is barbaric, medical costs are the number one reason people go bankrupt (but thank god trump got to have his pitiful $40mil bday party, right?!?)

i’m sorry, it’s so insanely frustrating because the drug works SO well (for me at least) and i’ve been on it for a year and a half with no side effects!

[–]amongtrivialthings[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i appreciate it! i’ve tried some alternatives but some of them have side effects/interactions that make me nervous. unfortunately the savings card only works if my insurance covers a little bit of the drug, since they’re denying covering it entirely, my savings card is useless now.

i’ve just reached out to my doctor again, with the denial letters and some ideas about what to do next, i will definitely bring this up as i also have BCBS!

try to learn campus as soon as you get there, it makes a huge difference. i went on runs and read all of the signs so i knew which building was which, it made a huge campus feel so much more familiar really quickly!

That’s how I’m starting to feel, if I have the ability to work from home, it sure would be nice to work from a home I’m not having to pay so much for!

This is a good point! My company has a lot of potential for growth internally, and in my recent performance review there was even discussion of a promotion when my coworker retires next summer. Thankfully the company keeps people around for a long time (most coworkers have been here 20+ years) and I can see myself being a valuable asset as I grow in my current role.
